I'll stand up for Archinstall, it's the fastest and easiest way to sleepwalk through creating a VM. all the defaults are sensible and there's very little to do, especially after you set it up once, unlike some that do processing during the "wizard" part.
I guess I’m just a step behind, when you have a config are you saving it by cutting and pasting? I guess when I’m doing an install on my laptop I could mount a second USB and save the config there
IDK. Here's a gif(webm), the amount of time I have to pay attention to the installer is about 3 mins, then I can leave the thing running until I can login.
I would like to thank the sponsors of today's shitpost, Virtual Machine Manager : For when you want to ssh in without fucking around, use virtual machine manager. If you're a noob, Gnome-boxes is perfectly fine too. And KdenLive. Do you know how to do pro tier editing on linux? Well, you can learn for free by running sudo apt install kdenlive and figuring it out by ear. Because fuck it, no one wants to pay for aftereffects, and can't be bothered to learn Blender.
EDIT : Why yes, I did (partially) create a VM , install Kdenlive AND learn how to do non linear editing just to make a shitpost.

Good ol Archinstall, you’re a pita, but you sure as hell beats installing Arch manually
