I'll be honest, thanks to social media it takes a lot for me to boycott a company. I usually have a few strikes, companies are large and even if one thing is intentional by one person it doesn't represent everyone. Hell I'll even get food poisoning twice before I stop going to a restaraunt.

Target though made it on my shit list a while back. They were absolutely the worst offender in terms of performative gay pride. The flags, the areas in the stores meant inclusive clothing for all, and more. Then they were the first company I saw bend over and remove their DEI policy. That wasn't one bad costume like this that slipped through, that was a top down decision. It just so clearly and obviously showed that LGBTQ was nothing more than a metric, a market segment to them, they didn't give two fucks. What's worse is that whereas most companies didn't give two fucks, Target went out of their way for a decade to try and persuade everyone that they did give a fuck, only to throw it away I believe 2 weeks after this term started.

Target burned all of their goodwill that instant with me, and I'm not even LGBTQ, simply an ally. I went from going there once a month for supplies to haven't been in, I don't know probably over a year maybe longer.

I'll say that W3 starts horribly slow. White Orchard is one of the most boring training zones I've done, and Velen is rough. It's needed for sure, but it doesn't hook you very well. I highly recommend pushing through to Novigrad where you start meeting your friends like Triss, the story really picks up, the side quests get more involved, and it helps carry it through.

I love story rich games, Mass Effect is my #1, then RDR2, and then probably Cyberpunk 2077. Witcher 3 was very good, but to me the story just never quite gripped me like the others. The world however is phenomenal, and that's what kept me playing.

always remember to clone/mirror repositories in other places folks. Lawyers got onto Github and Github happily takes things down unless all of the internet comes to push back. Mirror your favorite projects to codeberg, forgejo, gitea, wherever. You never know when someone will be forced to take that project you love down.

you know honestly, I could see that. I see several posts all the time about "was wrongly banned". Reddit went to shit, and I know I was banned for my fair share and they love throwing around the ban hammer. But..... I'm guessing not everyone was completely wrongfully banned.

Yeah anytime I see code that I use that interacts with a third party I mirror it to be safe. Repos are small. Especially if the third party isn't a tech company, like most home assistant things. They are incredibly hostile and letigous against open source projects that have the audacity to make their products better.

It really disheartens me, I fight for public transit all the time, but the very few who do this ruin everyone's perception of it. Then people who try transit see something like this and never want to again.

This looks honestly really good. Gears always looked like another shooter at face value, but it always had a great story and a lot of heart. They had a great trilogy, and then they lost that heart for 4/5, so much that I didn't even bother with 5. E-Day here could be exactly what the franchise needs, a reboot of the gut feelings we had when playing the original, and the added benefit of it being a prequel so it could pull in new fans. I'm hopeful for it.

That being said it's xbox exclusive and I'm linux-only so no way to play :/

I think luckily it's because most games still have plenty of open seats, and it's pretty clear that for the most part people only go when it's easy to get in. I also think cheaper seats subsidize the real money - food and drink. They know a 30 dollar ticket is cheap, but they also know for that family of for for $140 you might spend an additional 150 just on food that is worth maybe 20 bucks. Many will eat ahead of time or do what they can, but I see lines hours long waiting in line for that $15 dollar hotdog.

Ugh. So Hollywood is so out of ideas they'll just replay the same ones. Sad things is I loved these movies, but ugh let's move on.

Yeah I have no care for their annual marketing rebrand. 6 broke most of the things I used even, I had DLCs that didn't even work. Dovetail has no interest in going back and fixing anything.

That should worry them, as I spent probably 4-500 dollars a year on their content, happily I might add. I love the routes and the simulation. Last year I didn't spend anything on it.

The other 40% is how gamers are all extremely negative and it's only been a downward trend. This is now the THIRD thread I've seen today about something I've been hyped about, and not a single one has had a positive comment. It's all either "It's going to be a corporate shitshow" or "You're a bad person for even liking a game made by X company".

And hey, the companies did it to themselves, but fuck I'm tired of the constant negativity. I'm excited for this! I don't care! I loved the entirety of the Witcher 3, CP2077's release was a shitshow but they more than made up for it afterwards with a stream of first fixes and then just free improvements, not to mention Phantom Liberty and now it's like, my #2 favorite game ever. And I have a DRM free copy so I can keep it forever! I have no reason to doubt them. Sure it may be late. I don't care. I'll probably still love it.

Comments must be about how horrible all games are, and there may be no positive mentions about games!
