Non-Americans, what's it like when you're sick and need to go to the doctor?
Ireland here. I have been relatively lucky with my health since I've been here (last 10 years). The GP I go to gives a small discount because of where i work. I pay 50 euros a pop to see the doc (usually 60 I think) but the last two times I needed to see the doc it was a same day appointment. I paid for insurance the first year I was here, tried to use it when I saw a GP and they laughed in my face. Also frequently had my daughter seen (for free), they seem to keep increasing the age for which kids are seen for free, now up to age 7?

I've seen/heard a few Americans (old and young) saying something like "it has been a minute" to indicate "it has been a long time". What the hell is that? How did that start? Please someone enlighten me

This is absolutely brilliant. Struggling to see what the catch is. Since we got 2 euros fares here in Dublin we are all crammed into the tram/train/bus like sardines. But a wee bit of discomfort for a cheaper journey? I'll take it

Used to live right next to it. Would get hungry at night and go at 2am, then find myself regretting it as I have to wait for 20 minutes for all the drunks to be served!

In Dublin, household brings in about 150k euros altogether. I do not feel wealthy, closer to poor. The way inflation has raised up the price of everything is maddening. Lots of money comes in but then goes right back out!
