What? Stick a sign up and wait for them to fall. £50 - job done! Put a rope up around the worst. Maybe another £100. And the council must have gardeners on their books, do none of them want to learn tree felling?

Yup, it's a PM comment on self rule. Still, at least he acknowledges that Scotland has the right to decide in some fashion. A step up from the last few PMs.
Now, Sinn Fein have to do us a favour and find out the real route to that border poll. As it looks set that Scotland has to follow that route.

A poor decision. Aberdeen will be rejoicing, but the planet doesn't need it, the rest of Scotland doesn't need it, and the UK doesn't need it

These unis bet on the foreign students. And a few factors, primarily brexit, has resulted in that bet not paying off.
I'd personally like to see how that 5bn a year is spent. Cause even at 50k/staff member, and staffing costing 75% of costs, that's 75,000 employed in our 15 unis, or 6k each. Which for Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, and St Andrew's is plausible. But UHI? Abertay? Stirling?
I suspect a large amount of debt payments in essence. Especially at Edinburgh and Dundee, both of whom own vast chunks of their cities, and given these students aren't here: sell up
