For years it never ceases to amaze me that the PS3 interface is so clean, nice, and pleasant to use. I was excited to hook it up tonight but was disappointed.

I now can't use the network without scanning a QR code in my phone or going to some website. I am also really upset that my PS3 updated to include bloatware that I can't remove (YouTube and Amazon, Spotify, can't recall). Like, how did they just enshittify something I've already owned for 20 years? F.

If I don't find a vendor who has no tracking / parasitic practices soon, I'm just going to stop gaming. I've already found Steam sending a million queries that I have to block. They forced me to be online to play a game after playing offline was acceptable just a week before. I remember just owning games and being left alone and I miss it.

First Reddit became toxic and unusable, news became mudslinging garbage, they are trying to ruin Linux with age verification, and now they are even reaching back to enshittify 20 year old gaming consoles. I just want to go live in the woods at this point. We can't address issues faster than they enshittify the entire world.

In Dec 2024 I got hooked in Hyprland on Arch and have a cool rice for it. But I've tried KDE on desktop now with Parrot OS since Plasma is popular. Still need to find some cool dot files or rice it myself.

I've noticed SwayFX getting lots of love lately. I might use that as an option with Plasma but am afraid of conflicts. I'm excited about it since Linux has now officially replaced windows on my gaming rig, which is the very last MS computer left in my house.

Please make them stop. Why are they still legal? My neighbor has been using a mower, weed eater, and leaf blower for 5.5 hours. Nobody else ever notices the noise but my auditory sensitivities make me want to claw my skin off.

I'm in US. Every year it gets harder and harder to get my meds. Since my doc is in another state, I have to drive 80 miles to get ADHD, anxiety, and sleep meds. However, I can just get my other meds near my current house.

Also, instead of have refills on my sleep meds, they have to be prescribed by the month. It's really annoying because I drive to get them and pharmacy doesn't have them due to a mistake while interfacing with my doc. It's happened a few times now. All the docs here are insurance billing farms so I never switched any doctors when I moved.

ADHD and all comorbidities seem to create a need for meds that are harder and harder to get. Drug tests, drug shortages, sleepless nights... At this point I want to sue the DEA. (Drug enforcement agency - Sorry for American defaultism) Anyone else have these issues?

So I've spent hours deleting gmail emails on an account I've held on to despite moving to other providers. Had it for decades now. When I'm done switching the last of my accounts to my new emails, I think I'm going to make fake profiles in cat forums and select all the notifications I can just to fill Googles servers with bullshit.

In the days of memory shortages, I'm definitely not just giving them that 15 GB of space for them to use it to store and sell other's info while they use the cash to buy legislation. It sure would be terrible if others wasted all their storage that way too. Fill it up with emails about crazy conspiracy shit, Jesus, and Grindr messages.

I have a basic firewall, but did not use App Armor, SELinux, or kernel blacklists. I definitely shut down port 22 just for now. It's just a laptop daily driver. Should I do more?

Also, I'm now addicted to Arch. I'm using Hyprland with it. This means I've got two bleeding edge wares and that gets rough sometimes when things break. I want Arch on my desktop gaming rig though. I tired other distros but I just love Arch. Has anyone tried using Ansible to manage multiple installations? I really can't maintain two so I was wondering if Ansible would make it easier, especially for updating.

I got some book recommendations from another community to see what has been discovered about ADHD since I got diagnosed 20 years ago. I bought a few and they haven't been delivered yet. For example, I didn't know my auditory sensitivities and rejection sensitivities were associated until recently. Also, daydreaming apparently.

But right now I'm in my mid-40s and I can't function. The political situation in the US is dangerous, there are serious issues with ethics and safety at my job that would have never been as prevalent when I started 20 years ago, there are pedophiles and people who protect them represented by half the population. So at this point, people scare me, I feel alone, and I think everyone else is nuts. You all know what they say about that.

With everything going on and my inability to handle basic tasks, I feel like I'm going nuts. It could cause trouble with my job soon. Any basic additional everyday problem is a major issue I can't handle. I can't focus at all, I can't do any hobby with decision paralysis, my anxiety is through the roof, and ADHD is ruining my life.

I'm too old to add more amphetamine s to my dosage. What can I do? Would a therapist be able to even do anything here?

It's got Webveiw and seems nice. I can save boomarks to the bookmark app integrated with my OS but can't figure out how to access it on Searchist.

So have you tried it and what do you think? My only hangup is the bookmarks, and this was released just a few days ago, so I bet they'll fix it.

I was diagnosed 20 years ago. I joined this forum and was astonished when I saw a post entitled "what kind of earplugs do you have?" I thought "wait, you all have ear plugs too?" My point is that when I was diagnosed, we didn't know all these things about ADHD (auditory sensitivities, etc). I used to flip shit and get angry immediately when I heard leaf blowers. Certain sounds would send me over the edge when I was younger. I am also finding out about a correlation between ADHD and rejection dysphoria. What book can I read to find out what else I don't know that's been discovered since 2005?

Also, I'm female, so I'm probably missing info about that too.

Right now I'm using the default e/OS launcher of Fairphone 6, but wanted more options to clean up icons and set colors to desktop. I might try the Dragon launcher on FDroid.

SearxNG instances are not working as well these days and I want something more reliable. I will just pay a subscription. Swiss cows is pushing subscriptions and I'm good with paying. Never tried Kagi.

I can't figure out why nobody talks about this. I see all kinds of alternative browsers on here, but never this one. I especially like the color coded bookmarks for different categories (my news is gray, my searxng/swisscows and other search engines green, my tech solutions purple). It has anti-fingerprinting and a quick toggle for if you need to quickly adjust javascript or cookie setting to make a quick exception. There are lots of features. If anyone else has tried it, it would be interesting to hear your feedback too.

I have ADB, UAD, and even Shazuku with Canta. However, I tried removing Play Store and Play Services, but got my phone stuck in a boot loop. I have not tried to remove Gemini yet, but fear the same will happen. Insular (Island) will not allow me to move the services out of my persoanl profile, and Shelter will not work at all. Does anyone have a hack for this?

I do not want any Google crap on my device period. I have Samsung Galaxy 25 Ultra that I bought 6 months ago before realizing how ridiculous everything is.

I'm not buying a Pixel because I'm not giving Google any money. I'm in the US so the other OSs will not work for me. I just need this crap off my phone. I can't uninstall Youtube, and it came with Facebook. It's just infuriating. Can I just root it and connect it to my Linux laptop and just force uninstalls or something without bricking the device?

I normally default to SearxNG search engine but sometimes use swisscows.com.

For some reason, if I let FOSS browser remove the tracker portion of the search, it will no longer work. If I allow the tracker to be used, it works every time. I have tried multiple Searx engine instances, and they all seem to have the same issue.

I'm condemned to a week-long meeting soon, and it makes me want to put a shotgun in my mouth to even think about it. What can I do to make it more bearable?
