They had all kinds of anti-establishment and anti-war lean in their early music and they have walked back those lyrics to “not really mean what they say” these days. Their concert parking lot tailgaters fly Trump flags, thin blue line flags, Gadsden flags, and and firearms flags. Just like the concert attendees wearing clothes featuring Grunt Style, raggedy flags and punisher logos. Then they tour with performative military rock bands like Five Finger douche punch.

They were anti-authority metal that grew up, made money, and decided to be the ones holding the batons and riot guns instead. And they sued fans, ruining lives over money that didn’t affect their rich asses one bit.

Fuck Metallica.

Most people don’t want to deal with the consequences. The damage to their families, the possibility of being killed themselves either by the cops or death penalty, the lies about them the press and political opponents would make up about them, everyone has some skeletons they wouldn’t want revealed, and the fact they’d be silenced and have no way to make a real case for why they did what they did. At best a lifetime in prison because, even if you're right, they’re gonna make an example of you because we can’t just have people killing presidents, y’know. I think also that they might realize that it’s probably cutting a head off the Hydra, some other PoS would just step up and continue the shitshow.

IOW you’d have to have someone with nothing to lose and the willingness to sacrifice themselves for such a deed, and the skills to pull it off.

Generally the kind of person willing to kill a president isn’t going to be sane, and if someone is sane and has the same idea they understand the price and aren’t going to want to do it. That, and things aren’t dire enough for a sane person to make the leap to do such a thing.

That same stucco sterile box style is everywhere. It’s like a generic rich people tract house that you get from a vending machine. Just add water and they pop up, all the same, brick paved driveways, generic minimalist interiors, nobody actually lives there. It’s as empty and uncreative as the people who hired someone else to design it for them.

IDK, maybe they could put games on some kind of physical media so that users could have the game and not need live service? Like some kind of optical disc? They could charge for add-on DLC, like they used to. Software could be downloaded and stored locally…once. y’know, without being streamed?

And gamers could rent servers. Like they used to. And that could be an income stream for a company.
