YouTube demonetizes public domain 'Steamboat Willie' video after copyright claim
The article hides it in the update.
This feels significant: Disney has officially retracted a copyright claim on a third-party's Steamboat Willie video on YouTube.
It's not significant, that's how it works. It went into the public domain and the copyright strike process took time to adjust. Disney was never going to fight this.

Florida man forgets about four category 5 storms that hit when he was president
Because he's deaf and can't read. He got a hurricane briefing once and tried to correct the drawing with his personal hopes and dreams. That was the last time they gave him a hurricane brief.
People who support this dude are weird for not seeing he's not fit for office. He should step down and let someone younger go, like Biden did. He has way too much ego to admit he lost an election, nevermind stepping down, but it would be the play

Peak engineering
Hate to be that guy, but for something bad like this to happen, it's never one person's fault. Like the engineer who nuked the gitlab backup by mistake while production had been deleted. He didn't lose his job and rightfully so, there were a thousand other issues that led to that.

DJI will no longer stop drones from flying over airports, wildfires, and the White House
DJI voluntarily created its geofencing feature, so it makes a certain degree of sense that the company would get rid of it now that the US government no longer seems to appreciate its help, is blocking some of its drone imports, calls DJI a “Chinese Military Company,” and has started the countdown clock on a de facto import ban.
That sounds exactly like how Trump does business, tit for tat and quid pro quos.. thats also why Zuck is acting out - gonna be a wild 4 years

Scrooge.
This is the same thing that other billionaire did with his fortune. Gave 3 billion "away" to his own charity so his kids could inherit without paying a penny in taxes.
I make under 200k and the highest bracket I hit is 51% of my salary. Warren buffet has paid less than 10% taxes on his entire fortune. They're playing us, the new cool thing is just to say it's for the climate.

The people on the couch don't exist. It's an unrealistic expectation nobody actually has.
Edit: the unrealistic part is that they have so few corners to fit and they fit perfectly. It's more complicated than that.

Why would this backfire? You think germans and their gigafactory subsidies are going to like the nazi salute so much it will increase his popularity?

YSK that horses evolved in North America, migrated to Eurasia across the Bering land bridge, then went extinct in North America.
YSK used to have a rule that asked "why we need to know this/should know this.
This is a TIL not a YSK.

Guess who's being weird to Tim Walz's son
Reply in thread
talk radio host Jay Weber tried to parody Tim Walz, tweeting, “Meet my son Gus. He’s a blubbering bitch boy. His mother and I are very proud.” Weber later said that he deleted his tweet after learning that Gus was disabled—he just meant to attack a 17-year-old boy for being emotional.(Weber has since deleted his explanatory tweet as well.)
What a bunch of weirdos

Breaking the law for real
This is probably the thing people understand the least about the left lane, and I bet this guy is one of em.
It doesn't matter what speed you are passing, as long as you are passing (and of course if you are barely passing youre a dick).
But not because im passing 10km/h faster and you want to pass 30km/h faster, that I need to move out of the way. Flashing your lights and putting your blinker only makes me want to pass slower. The left lane is not reserved for the fastest driver on the road.

Bankruptcy judge rejects The Onion’s bid to buy Alex Jones’ Infowars
Reply in thread
Not only did they want them, the onion agreed to pay more to another lawsuit filed by a different group of parents than would have been given by the second bidder. This wasn't the highest amount bid, but the highest payout to families.

San Francisco's North Beach streets clogged as long line of Cruise robotaxis come to a standstill
Here's an idea, instead of individual cars, we could combine them into a few cars pulled 1 big car. And given they pretty much go to the same place, we could put them on some sort of tracks to reduce rubber wear, like steel wheels. We could even make it stop at a couple of useful places along the way... Wait.
