What is something you like that you initially disliked because of bad representation?

Don't even bother, I've tried.

They misunderstand that science is always striving for evidence and if something isn't 100% irrefutably proven it doesn't mean that alternative hypotheses should be considered equally viable.

They don't understand that a line is drawn in the scientific community based on current evidence and there is no secret cabal preventing research into plant consciousness. They ignore scientists who study plant electrical signaling who explicitly distinguish between complex biochemical response mechanisms and centralised subjective experience.

They don't even acknowledge that even if plants could be considered conscious they would have levels of it below that of your average mammal.

I've tagged them as "Plants are conscious advocate" so I can take any opinion they push with a handful of salt.

Well-Known Anti-Gay “Conversion” Therapist Comes Out As Gay

I have somewhat of a pet extension to projection theory... Many people who are anti-gay think that it is a choice as they themselves have made that choice. ie. They are repressed bisexual/gay.

Completely unsubstantiated with no evidence but I find it fun to think about as it would explain their complete misunderstanding of it not being a choice. "I made the tough choice and am living with it, why can't they?!"

Tech support workers, what are your favorite stories from your time in the industry?

Me: Here's the URL for the web service I've just deployed. I've set up users and permissions so just copy it into your browser and you should see a very similar system to what you've been trained on with all your data in there.

Customer: All I'm getting is a blank screen.

Much panicking and headscratching later...

Me: Waaaiiiiittt, did you press Return/Go after copying the URL?

Customer: That was not in the instructions.
