I tried, they didn't want to hear it. I don't really know what else I can, or should do. I just don't use it, and have blocked it from my sight as well as I can.

Nah, fortunately my manager is a good guy, CEO is just a pissy finance guy who got butthurt being disagreed with publicly and probably was on my manager's ass about it. To me it sounds like it could be what some littermates do to eachother, he's calling you to play. Our cats will do this same thing, but to each other: Jade will first go groom Ciri's face for a bit, perhaps a little stranglehold here, or she flops down in front of her sister, asking her to jump on top and wrestle, a lot like what you've described in the post. It's been a while since I have disagreed so hard with anyone. With all due respect of course, can't really debate taste.

I disagree with the story being awful or awkward acting. Story is the best one of out the 3 (if you don't count Witcher 3's DLCs, those were superb.) and has the most innovative story quests. Also, not to spoil too much, but your decisions in that game actually affect the entire world and story a lot, what you do in act 2 can change the entire story, my mate and I had completely different stories because of what we decided in act 2, and I have to respect that. Not like that Mass Effect kind of "you were evil or whatever, which colour do you want as your ending?"

I agree, combat is terrible, engine is terrible, everything is unintuitive and clunky. I'd say for the best experience, drop difficulty to the easiest one and play for the story. Also, change voice acting to Polish, I can't stand Geralt in English in any of the games (Sorry Doug, cool guy, doesn't fit as Geralt IMO.) and the Polish really adds to the atmosphere, kinda like playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in Russian.

None, before my mom saw me play Soldier of Fortune and shoot a dudes' ball off. After that she bought me an "educational, age appropriate game", The Logical Journey of the Zoombini. I wasn't supposed to play violent games, and instead play this game I was supposed to get bored of because it's educational, and go play outside.

Jokes on her, I loved that game, and played it a ton.

Of course I ignored the rule of violent games and just learned to alt+tab as a reflex if I heard someone open my door. Useful skill in other parts of life as well...

All 3 of ours are quite vocal, but only Ciri drives me crazy. She is extremely social young cat, and every time someone leaves the house, goes to the bathroom, takes a shower or goes out of sight for any reason, she will start yowling after them, and not in a cute way, it's a banshee wail. She will also do this if she thinks it's feeding time (1-2h before actual feeding time) or if she "can't find anyone". If ignored, she will escalate to clawing doors or bullying the other two to provoke a reaction.

We know the only way to make it stop is not to react, but she is REALLY good at provoking a reaction, especially when she starts this operation 04:30 in the morning when I need to get up in 2 hours for work...

Otherwise a very pleasant, smart cat.

Well, not specifically because I want to make them feel included, it is to stimulate them and satisfy their curiosity. Also helps skittish cats and dogs to gain confidence by introducing them to new smells constantly in a safe way.

Smells are way more important to both cats and dogs than humans, and more than most people realize. Example: I see a lot of people around walk their dogs and not letting them sniff properly but just tug them along, thinking that the physical exercise and waste management are the sole purpose of walks.

We have a retired hunting dog, turned 11 on Sunday actually, and she's still ridiculously hard to tire by physical exercise. The only way to get her proper tired is mental stimulation. Sniffing is a big part of that. 30min calm patient walk is way better than 60min of "COME OON" -hurried impatient walk.

About 5 years ago or so, was standing waiting for the bus, minding my own business. Next to me was a man in his 40's, and his ~10 year old kid. Suddenly I saw from the corner of my eye that the man just collapsed, like you see in cartoons, straight down on the ground. Kid froze up and just stared at him, and I quickly realized that "Oh fuck, I am the adult in the situation."

Went over to the man, who was conscious, but confused and angry. Luckily I recognized the signs of hypoglycemia, and asked the kid if his dad has diabetes. Kid didn't answer, just stared at him. Snapped my fingers in his face, and he came out of it, and answered "Yes, type 1". Told the kid to run to the nearby store and get a juice box or two, don't bother paying or explaining, we'll deal with it later. I stayed with the dad, tried asking some questions while ringing the emergency number, and he let me check his head. Luckily he didn't hit it, there was no blood at least.

Got the ambulance sorted, and kid ran back with juice boxes, with the store clerk running and screaming in tow. I yelled at the clerk that it's an emergency, man with diabetes collapsed. Clerk didn't care or listen, just screamed at the kid that he stole the juice boxes and tried to grab him. I got up and stepped between them, and raised my voice over hers (fortunately I have a very loud voice if I want to) and she shut up for a few seconds before starting her inane tirade about stealing and how she's gonna phone the cops. I lost my temper and told her to shut the fuck up and either help or fuck off, who the fuck cares about 50 cents worth of juice, man's life was on the line.

After drinking two boxes of juice, the man perked up and was coherent again, and stated that he has type 1 diabetes and forgot to eat. I told him it's fine, ambulance is on the way, do you need more sugar? He said he's fine, and tried to get up but I gently stopped him. During all of this, the clerk was still going on about stealing, and I got pissed, told her I know stores have a budget for this sort of thing, what the fuck is your problem, this man had an emergency, the kid did what I told him and it was the right thing to do. At this point, I remembered the kid.

The kid was standing there, tears in his eyes, staring at his feet. I pat him on the back, told him to not listen to the insane lady, you did good lad, saved your dad's life. Ambulance came at that point, and the man started fussing how he doesn't need an ambulance, he's fine. Told him that it's a good idea to get checked even if you feel fine, see if there's any underlying issues, check your head in case you hit it etc.. Got the paramedics up to speed, they started a glucose and hydration drip.

During the whole ordeal, the clerk never stopped yammering and whining, so one of the paramedics told her to knock it off and jot it up as cost of business, stores have a budget for this exact sort of thing, and it was less than a euro worth of juice that saved a man's life. They thanked me for the quick help, told them it's fine, I have friends with diabetes, not my first rodeo, and I have a first aid certificate, got lucky I was there. Turned to the kid, who was sitting in the ambulance with his dad, still crying silently, in complete shock. I fist bumped him, told it was gonna be okay, you did good. Both the kid and dad thanked me, I told them no need, I just did what anyone else would have. Ambulance left.

Store clerk was still fuming, and tried to start her shit again with me. I took out my wallet, had 2 euro coin there and I threw it on the ground. Told her "there you go, you stupid piece of shit. You have your money, what the fuck are you still doing here" and put on my headphones, ignoring her. She left shortly after, glaring at me. I gave her the finger. She didn't even pick up the 2 euro coin.

My bus came, and I was almost an hour late for work at that point. Boss nagged me when I got there, but calmed down when I explained. Was pissed about the clerk all day.

All of this at 06:30 in the morning. I'm not a morning person. It sucked. At least I could help someone in need.

Moral of the story (if you really want one):

Don't be a fucking dickhead.

Also, if you have the chance, do first aid training. I've had several situations during my life where things could've ended worse if I didn't know how to react. One situation unfortunately where it didn't matter, old boy had a seizure (I think aneurysm or stroke) and was dead before the paramedics got there, me and another dude had been doing CPR for 20 minutes on a dead man, but at least we did our best.

We have it, it sucks. Especially in it's current form, it's discriminatory and archaic. You basically have 4 choices: go to the army, do civil service (pesudo-slave labour essentially), go to jail (usually house arrest) or try to get out of it by faking a mental illness.

I did civil service, and nobody told me of the stigma that follows not going to the army; especially conservative people will treat you like a second class citizen, a coward, lazy, hippie or a traitor. It's even worse if you decide to protest and go to jail instead of serving. On top of that, there's not a lot of the service places nowadays, it cannot be a for profit company, and has to be "useful to the community" sort of thing. Most people go to schools, unemployment centers or old folk's homes. The work I did for 364 days was in a school, and had nothing to do with my studies or interests, nor did it teach me any skills. I was mostly bored out of my mind.

Being stuck in the army/service also delays your studies, and can make it harder for some people to continue studying afterwards due to the forced delay in between.

If you add in how it's incredibly discriminatory, that only males have to do it, it's voluntary for females, and certain religious groups get a free pass, but I can't get a free pass because of my principals or morals. I believe some promising athletes can get a free pass as well, but don't quote me on that.

Basically, at least in it's current state, it's bad. With some fundamental changes and prioritizing the wishes/principals of the individual, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I'm not a fan of my individual choice being ignored with a threat of jailtime. An opt-out model I would be fine with, but I guess that kind of doesn't fit with your questions, as it's not exactly mandatory at that point.

There's a lot more to be said, but that covers most of my main opinions briefly.

Finland. My own father came very close to disowning me for not going to the army. He did call me colourful slurs for years, before I cut ties.

I mean, has it's uses for sure, but the scope in which people are deploying these cookiecutter generalist LLMs and expecting bloody miracles is unrealistic. Plus, I like my privacy, AI's are kind of an antithesis of that. Environmental cost is way too high as well.

It's a tool, and it can be used successfully, but it's so inefficient that I can't justify it personally.
