I just wanted to say thanks to the devs and the users who continue to make this ever adapting app and community great especially in light if the tesseract shitstorm.

I was a Reddit users first 10+ years and watched it grow and eventually decay ( Aaron Schwarz death I personally felt was the big beginning of the cracks along with r/jailbait amongst other shitty subs)

This app has helped me get off of the algorithm ride of dopamine and instant gratification I didn’t even know I was actively a part of I had left Facebook ages ago along with instagram and never got involved with TikTok.

Yes, lemmy isn’t perfect but what it strives and continues to do remind me of the old excitement I felt loading up Netscape navigator and old forums and discovers niche content. Yes I know it’s not as big as the others but to me it’s a breath of much needed fresh air and have talked with people who i agreed with, debated with and changed my perspective on things I do in my everyday life. From lowering my own footprint for the environment and even completely jumping into Linux on both my main Computers.

I just wanted to say thanks to you all for giving this lone user a little hope in the darkness of the the current events and looking towards what more I can do to help.

Keep up the good work people from the devs to the posters to the lurkers I really think we are on to to something that’s already making a big difference even if it’s a ripple in the ocean I can only see us growing in a good way and thank you for all your hard work

Made the mistake of buying sushi at a 24 Hour grocery shop planning on eating at that night. It’s sat in the fridge for two days. I live somewhat out in the country and I went to grab a snack and grab two little rolls out of it and scarf those down real fast so I can get up to the mountains and sight in some of my rifles.

At this time, the sushi and question was about four days old and in the fridge and it was not one of my brightest ideas, but I figured I would grab one or two scarf down real fast so I can make it up in the mountains before I got dusk and make it back.

I was not feeling too hot on the way back, but I figured it was just because I’ve been running around and doing a bunch of driving and getting all my equipment together and what not. This, however, was not the case. I ended up picking up a mild case of food poisoning, and I hadn’t been this sick since I had malaria and Afghanistan where liquid was coming out of both ends.

I tried to relieve my butt area with wet wipes, and even putting one folded up just between the butt cheek cheeks just to keep it so it didn’t burn like a volcano that did not work.

So once again and a stroke of genius, I decided hey lotion, shoes, and I have some cocoa butter so I use that and let me tell you this it was like throwing gasoline on a burning fire.

I got the proper medication now, which is just over-the-counter. I’m feeling a little better able to keep down solid mostly out of both ends. Sorry about the TMI (Too much information.)

But on a positive note before I left the shooting area, which is up in the woods by me about 35 minutes away I cleaned up two bags trash and so that’s why I thought I was tired and in a little out of sorts, but according to the VA, I just have a case of food poisoning and it’s been years since I had a case like this and I don’t recommend it and I realize that there is plenty of my steps that I did to myself, but I would just like to put out that Intel in case anybody else runs across that sort of situation. Do not use lotion. Use the Destin or whatever your country has and you will be a whole lot happier camper.

I really enjoy this community even though I don’t post it’s nice seeing good things around the world and good people working on small things for their community or their houses or their cars are improving little things on here and there and I have definitely used a lot of your advice so my advice is not probably up to the caliper that you guys have given me but I’d figure I’d throw in my token with that and yeah I hope you guys are staying safe out there wherever we are around the world and have a happy day evening afternoon whatever time zone your end.

P.S. The picture is of the scenery up there by the mountain not the actual makeshift shooting range, but it’s a lot prettier and I figure you guys might all enjoy that.

Hope y’all have a splendid day and just like to say that it’s nice to open up this community and get positive news with everything that’s going on in the world so thanks for that and if this post violates any of the rules or anything like that, feel MODS to remove it. I’m primarily a worker so I’m still trying to walk that line in between everything what’s appropriate and what’s not.

Like the title states looking for E2EE apps (Android and iOS) without going into much details or needs to be robust enough and easy to use for anyone and stable for operations that are susceptible to constant electronic warfare. I did some research and thought about replacing Signal with Molly and wondering if it will still work if Signal leaves the EU, but am also worried about its updates to patch vulnerabilities in a timely manner. I appreciate the help I am a “Jack of all trades and master of none” when it comes to these types of programs, but am also the go to currently in my unit since I am somewhat knowledgeable about exploits and attacks that can compromise systems would be great if there was an desktop as well (like Signal) and would also be nice if it was FOSS and auditable ( I know that’s kind of redundant ) I know it’s a tall order to ask but figured I would try. I really appreciate the help so much and hope I did things by the rules here and don’t get flamed if this has already been covered ( I searched but my skills with searching the fediverse is low
