You can use curl itself, just set a SOCKS5 proxy with --socks5. Simply point it to the address of a running tor instance. So on arch linux for example, install the tor package, start the systemd service and use localhost:9050 as the proxy.

Arch already shipped Plasma 6 for a while. Doesn't translate directly to Manjaro though, due to their different way of handling updates.

Mint is my favourite beginner distro, can't really go wrong with it. What's your main use for your PC (gaming, office, development etc.)? There are some distros that are more well suited for certain tasks.
