Interesting point. I live in America, unfortunately, and we have giant multi billion dollar stadiums in most major cities that are almost entirely funded by taxpayers. The corporations who's name goes on the front don't pay for most of the costs, it's taxpayers. And most of those taxpayers will never see the inside.

Although to be fair if Americans ever were to riot I would hope it would be about the rise of fascism and the comically large wealth inequality gap rather than taxpayers funding buildings.

I am particularly disgusted with the US and our monstrous actions everywhere so I'm sure I'm at least a little biased about this. Comparing Chinese and American imperialism in the current year will inevitably feel like downplaying American atrocities to a lot of people. It feels like my government is a serial killer.

Good point. I wonder how many of these disagree with the "no civil disobedience" stance that Indivisible has. I do think these protests are helpful overall, even if the organizations running it are doing it for the wrong reasons.

I definitely agree that Chinese imperialism sucks. There are a handful of genuine criticisms towards China that even people who admire China must admit are very bad policies. The treatment of the Uyghur Muslims is particularly heinous, although I don't know if it's considered imperialism. It's just that the shit the US gets up is orders of magnitude worse.

I read that it makes ICE bigger than the fucking Chinese army. It's beyond obscene. One thing that I wonder about is... are there even enough racist sociopaths in this country to fill the ranks? You need a specific type of person to be willing to join ICE. It's possible that there simply aren't enough Americans who are willing to brutalize immigrants to use the $200 billion they were given.
