Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) - Dir. Terry Gilliam
An oddball journalist and his psychopathic lawyer travel to Las Vegas for a series of psychedelic escapades.
I'm a big fan of the novel, and I'm always amazed how well Gilliam and co. were able to turn it into a movie.

I think he's Samoan.
How did I not know it was directed by Terry Gilliam?
Tell me about the fucking golf shoes!
My appreciation for this movie has grown over the years. When I first saw it, I thought it was okay, not really bad but not really good either. More recently I've come to understand how much skill it took to get the "feel" of it just right.
I love this movie! I think it was a bit much to have Raul wearing that lizard tail during the aftermath hotel scene, and there were too many dwarf guys for it to be plausible, but the check-in scene and hitch hiker scene were some of the best shit ever to be put on film. Johnny Depp and Benecio Del Toro both knocked it out of the park in this! Classic!
Y'all can still watch Depp? He's an abusive asshole. JK Rowling likes him, for fucks sake.
