What happens when Linus dies/retires?
We've all agreed that when he dies it would be disrespectful to keep using Linux so we'll pack it up and switch to Windows from them on.

Loyalty to the flag
Such a creepy thing, getting children to chant in devotion to a state flag in schools.
It's the sort of thing they probably do in places like NK, or the Third Reich, you don't expect it to come from a supposedly modern, non imperialist nationalistic nation, ya know? :-(

It's literally the guy's actual face
Why does everybody insist on calling enemy occupiers, "settlers"?
When Russian civilians move in to annexed Ukrainian lands they're not called settlers. Settler suggests peaceful civilians moving somewhere they're allowed to inhabit, to start a new life.
They're invaders. Occupiers. Thieves.
Settlers my arse.

Wild Ones
Do butterflies infest homes and destroy property?
I feel like it's less what they look like, and more how they impact us. It's still very human-centric, but ya know, not so much a beauty thing as one might think at first.

YouTube Says New 5-Second Video Load Delay Is Supposed to Punish Ad Blockers, Not Firefox Users
But wait, wouldn't a 5 second pause on loading still be way better than sitting through minutes of adverts? :-D
Punishment my arse

Yes.

This is an April Fools, right?
No way a fancy top end smartphone in 2024 doesn't have this extremely basic feature from over a decade ago that everything has....

Ikea
It absolutely does not cost the same price as the properly made alternative. Noooo way.
Flat pack stuff like that is way, way cheaper, thus why people buy it.

Precognition proven! Parapsychology vindicated!

Judging just from the image and title, I'm guessing they're demonstrating this as evidence that there's insider trading going on, as just prior to the US President making a huge announcement that rocked the economy, a sudden unusual spike in activity was recorded.
This does not seem likely to be unrelated, given what this graph shows as normal activity.
The author suggests humourously that this is evidence of precognition - of being able to predict future events using magic.

Has anyone else noticed how dead most bars/clubs are now?
...Might help to mention what hemisphere you're in, or continent you're on? Or country? Or city?
The reason for your local change in nightlife could be anything from a wide, wide range of reasons, almost all of which depend heavily on where you are.
Let's not be like the uncouth Defaultist Americans that assume everybody in the world lives where they do. Let's be better, and let's provide a location when it's key info.

The boy who was relentlessly bullied by his uncle
Thank you for (poorly?) censoring the word "died", I was scared that I might see a reference to mortality online today. Phew, dodged a bullet! Aah!

New Zealand woman and six-year-old son detained for three weeks by Ice in US enduring ‘terrifying’ ordeal
Don't go to the USA.
Even if you're convinced their jackboots will spare you. It's not worth the risk, they'll target you for anything they like.
Maybe you're not quite white enough, maybe you liked a Facebook post criticising their government, maybe you've got an unamerican sounding name. Maybe you just weren't deferential, weak and obedient enough when they spotted you trying to come through the airport.
They will target you and send you to their concentration camps. If you're lucky you'll eventually be sent home with no physical injuries and just PTSD.
Don't go to the USA. It's just not worth it. There are far nicer places to visit that aren't fascist hellholes.

Tipping culture is tipping culture out of control.
You should see the insane way it's worshipped in the USA, all as an obviously thin front to avoid paying wages and giving workers rights. It's wild.

Microsoft Word documents will be saved to the cloud automatically on Windows going forward
Let's say this huge breach of security and privacy is okay.
How are Microsoft ensuring these sensitive documents are not being transferred via or stored on servers located in hostile countries with lax data laws (such as foreign nations like the USA?).

Good thing you censored those naughty words, everyone on the internet are children and it's not appropriate for them to know such no-no words.
I'm glad no child knows the word "kill". Phew.
