I used to believe that too, because it was pointless. But it seems that i was wrong. The fact that it was pointless, means that the corporations felt comfortable with using and abusing that to maximize profit. The fact that they are afraid to do that, indicates how fucked things are now.
So i am ok with corporations using movements for marketing reasons, because ultimately this is the canary in the mine. If the corporations consider it a brand risk, then society is moving towards the wrong direction.

Mild cases of death
The weirdest thing about this whole antivaxx movement is that it has spread to Europe too. Greece has conscription, so 90%+ of greek males have served in the greek military. And almost all of them got vaccinated with a trillion vaccines, including ones against gozzila(you can never be too safe). And thats on top of whatever vaccines babies usually receive.
Noone complained about it. There was some antivaxx movement before but with covid, everyone went crazy with the vaccines. Suddenly vaccines were evil, noone knew what they had in them, it's a global conspiracy. Everyone became a vaccine expert.
America needs to stop exporting their brain rot, we already have enough on our own.

The american obsession with melanin levels is insane. Why cant they be normal and be racist to people who live over the next hill, like us enlightened europeans.

Because keeping a low profile is how they can manage to survive in a homophobic society. Everyone is grandstanding while living in liberal western societies, ignoring how hard things are for less fortunate people.

It wasn't your fault
If 1 in 100 men is a rapist, then he can rape a lot more women than 1 in 100. Very few people are responsible for most occasions, similarly with divorces, etc.
Also why would anyone admit to being a rapist?

China's Xi Jinping asked 'What’s so bad about deflation?' amid economic slowdown, report says
Reply in thread
Not exactly. Deflation basically slows down the economy. If you think your money will worth more tomorrow, then you are less likely to invest/spend them.
But the whole purpose of money is to be used. Money is a tool, the oil that facilitates trade and keeps the economy going. And while too much money(oil) can overheat the economy(inflation), too little money can straight up bring the economy to a halt(deflation).
Deflation, even in small amounts, is more dangerous, thats why ideally you prefer having a small amount of inflation.

Oh God, it's catching
Italy's? Dont you mean Greece's? Italians(romans) were just wannabe greeks, greekaboos. Literally every aspect of roman society is copied from the greeks. And luckily for us(greeks), greeks were one of the first people who started writing down shit, in a language we can understand, so there is no reason to go further back.

Tesla’s Autopilot and Full Self-Driving linked to hundreds of crashes, dozens of deaths
Reply in thread
If the cars run over people while going 30kmh because they use cameras and a bug crashed into the camera and that caused the car to go crazy, that is not acceptable, even if the cars crash "less than humans".
Self driving needs to be highly regulated by law and demand to have some bare minimum sensors, including radars, lidars, etc. Camera only self driving is beyond stupid. Cameras cant see in snow or dark or whatever. Anyone who has a phone knows how fucky the camera can get under specific light exposures, etc.
Noone but tesla is doing camera only "self driving" and they are only doing it in order to cut down the cost. Their older cars had more sensors than their newer cars. But Musk is living in his Bioshock uber capitalistic dream. Who cares if a few people die in the process of developing visual based self driving.

Kick tankies out of 196
Reply in thread
Tankie has been a thing for over half a century. The Soviets used tanks(from other countries) to invade and crush antisoviet revolutions/protests in Hungary and Czechoslovakia.
This was considered shocking for some communists and other leftists while some communists supported those actions. Those who supported this "intervention" were called tankies, in order to differentiate them from the non tank invasion supporting communists.
In Greece(my country), which was in the "West", this event caused the split of the greek communist party(KKE) into 2 separate parties, KKE(Moscow controlled tankies) and KKE "interior"(weak ass soy communists who cant stomach the use of tanks in order to create a better tomorrow).
KKE "interior" kinda eventually became SYRIZA which surprisingly won the elections in 2015(breaking the 2 party status quo). Then the EU decided that the greek people decided poorly and punished them. So when the greek people decided correctly(elected a right wing government), the EU rewarded them. Carrots and sticks make the world go around. Thats how you make a majority leftist country, into a right wing one.
PS Greek debt is as high as it has ever been but Greece issued negative interest bonds. Tell me again how is the economy supposed to work? Noone talks about the greek debt anymore, it's a non issue, Greece has been accepted into the EU's infinite money glitch scheme.

Right to roam: The European freedom that’s illegal in the USA
Some countries have it, not all or even most. Sweden is not representative of the entirety of Europe.
In Greece you arent even allowed to camp outside of very limited designated camp sites(though laws in Greece are more like suggestions, so many people still go camping in forests).

What the fuck timeline are we in right now
Mike Pence might be a religious zealot who wants to ban abortions, etc but he is still an american patriot. There is no way you can be pro US and supporting what Trump is doing. Trump is destroying alliances, good will and all the soft power the US had accumulated in over 100 years.
Soft power was the real american super power. China might have had industrial might, might have gotten equivalent military strength eventually but China didnt have much soft power. Thats why China launched the Belt and Road initiative, 10 years ago. This is a multi-trillion dollar program, that invests on infrastructure to make it easier for China to trade with the rest of the world(and to cultivate positive attitudes towards China).
With the destruction of american soft power, Trump opened a huge door for China. There is a non zero chance of Europe pivoting towards China, similarly to how China pivoted towards the US(and away from USSR) in the 1970s. If China can offer a more "reasonable" peace plan for Ukraine, it can get the EU to be more neutral towards China in exchange, maybe even staying out of future Taiwan conflict.

I feel the internet is kinda going overboard with the opposite. Not every ancient relationship between 2 men was sexual and even if it was, bisexualism is a thing too. Say no to bi-erasure.
Iliad literally starts with Achilles arguing with Agamemnon over female slaves(Chryseis and Briseis) and who gets to keep who. And it was because of this, that Achilles refused to participate in the fighting from then on(also because he was OP as fuck and the game devs needed a reason to keep him on the sidelines, kinda like Superman dying in the Justice League).
And it wasnt till Patroclus(Achilles' friend/boyfriend) took Achilles' armor in order to help the losing greeks(raise morale thinking Achilles was fighting again) and then died to Hector, that Achilles went on his angry superman killing spree. Here is a rare video of Achilles after Hector killed Patroclus
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpVnot2y-hk
Also ancient greeks wrote about their potentially sexual relationship but ultimately, this whole story was a myth. This was "ancient history" for the ancient greeks of classical Greece, something that happened almost 1000 years ago. And there was a "dark era" in between Mycenaean Greece(Iliad) and Classical Greece(Athens and Sparta bullshit), that we dont know much about.
History, as we know it(ie the writing down of actual historical facts) only became a thing during Classical Greece. Herodotus, the "father of history", sometimes was accused by his contemporaries of embellishing his stories, "content brain" was a thing even then.

Don't forget where we came from and what shaped us as a species. The Jungle.
Humans "i dont rape because i respect other humans". Meanwhile nature ....
And in before "but i need to eat", you dont need to eat animal products. You can have a healthy life with a vegan diet, arguably an even healthier life. And to go back to my original point, just because you need to cum, doesnt mean that you have the right to cause suffering and death to other sentient beings.
Just masturbate. Just go vegan.

Kerameus: Greece now has a lower unemployment rate than Sweden, Estonia, Finland, and Spain
With almost a million people migrating out of Greece and tourism bouncing back hard after covid, of course unemployment will be lower in Greece. But outside of tourism, Greece is a zombie country.
Most of the people migrating out of Greece are young and educated. This will significantly affect the future of the country, both from a demographic point of view and policy.
For the first time ever, right wing parties got over 50% of the votes. Greece is a historically leftist country. The governing conservative party has like 3 right parties, further on its right in the parliament. Neonazis, christian talibans, you name it.
And while the governing party is trying to appeal to centists(in order to keep the left busy with in fighting), they also pander to the far right. And the worst part? The government has demolished freedom of press, increased spying on citizens and opposition, etc.
The stage is set for a greek Orban, but the current prime minister lacks the charisma and appeal. The infrastructure is there. Hopefully this will also reignite the leftist reaction instincts. Which is why the current prime minister is keeping a relatively low profile in regards to social issues(antiwokeness).
In fact, he made gay marriage legal in Greece and all the European leaders rejoiced. Except the only reason it wasnt already legal was because of his party. All other parties(except the neonazis and the communists) supported gay marriage. Many members of his party voted against it, but the law passed because the opposition supported it.

Quack makes a Swift escape
This isnt a good argument. For Fox News carbon emissions are irrelevant or good or whatever. But since Taylor Swift is saying she cares about the environment and according to her carbon emissions are bad for the environment, it is hypocritical to use a private jet.
The problem Fox News have with Taylor Swift isnt her carbon emissions, it is her hypocrisy.

They're basically the same right?
Latin and Greek are nowhere even similar to each other. You might as well say that Latin and German are the same language. Greek and Latin are 2 different linguistic branches of indoeuropean languages. Latin is the precursor of romance languages like Italian, French and Spanish. Ancient Greek is the precursor of Greek. Other major European language branches are the Germanic(German, English, Swedish, etc) and slavic(Russian, Polish, Bulgarian, etc).
Cool single indoeuropean individual language branches also include Armenian, Celtic and Albanian.
Finnish and Hungarian arent indoeuropean languages.
