To all the new(er) Reddit refugees!
Lasted one day on the official reddit app. Sadly the readability of it with the massive amounts of ads and sponsored posts makes me rather not use reddit at all.
Glad lemmy seems to genuinely be an upcoming alternative!

YSK: Feel like you only see the same 2-day old content? At least on lemmy.world, you can change your homepage's default sorting type & scope to "Hot" and "All"
Even though I'm now subscribed to heaps of channels, my feed on 'subscribed - all' only seems to show me posts from the same couple of channels even though a couple of those channels are way less active then many others I have.
Anyone have the same experience/tips - doesn't matter whether I set to new or hot

I think there were heaps of accidents this afternoon.
Maps was telling me 1hr30 by the westgate and 1hr10 through essendon. Ended up taking me 1hr 30 through essendon anyway. Can't imagine how much worse the westgate would of been
Monday it only took 1 hr.
I've been driving due to bus replacements and I imagine heaps of people are too. School holiday peaks are usually pretty good otherwise.
Between the drive to the station, train, bus replacement and then final train/walk it would of taken me over 2 hours otherwise.

Cut the steak (used rump) really thin and browned it in a cast iron fry pan in a shallow layer of oil. Once almost cooked, dump the cheese on top and put a lid on the pan so the heat melts it quicker. Turned out perfect

Why Victoria is having a pet census
I filled it out. Way too long to be honest. Was ready to give up half way through. Will definitely deter people from completing it.

The perfect ratio seems to be about 40grams of cheddar and 40grams of swiss on 250grams of steak
