I remember this one. Someone else lost him, but he knew where he was and wanted to be there.

This is a legit method for building small things like that where you can use the brick-like shape of the bag when it's hardened. You just need to make sure the concrete gets soaked all the way through with a hose or rain.

Amazon is bricking primary feature on $160 Echo device after 1 year
In September of 2023, Amazon announced the Echo Show 8 Photos Edition. It looked just like the regular Echo Show 8 smart display/speaker but cost $10 more. Why? Because of its ability to show photos on the home screen for as long as you want—if you signed up for a $2 monthly subscription to Amazon's PhotosPlus. Now, about a year after releasing the Echo Show 8 Photos Edition, Amazon is announcing that it's discontinuing PhotosPlus. That means Echo Show 8 Photos Edition users will be forced to see ads instead of their beloved pics.

[...]
For those super audiophiles who use up their 15 hours before their monthly billing cycles refresh, you can purchase a 10-hour top-up to finish that series. Not sure how many hours you have left? Check it at any time in your in-app settings. "
No cost listed on how much the top-ups are.

I don't understand the purpose of some selfhosting
I think the point with all of these is that they are "cloud"-based. Except instead of the cloud being someone else's computer, it's your own. Let's take Immich, for example. Sure I could keep all my photos on my phone. But what if I lose or break my phone? What if I have an actual camera with an SD card and I want to offload those photos? Self-hosting lets me keep a backup. I can set up a server with redundant drives that itself backs up to a server in another location with its own separate drives. Thus, I have my own safe cloud storage.

Do you feel safe enough to disclose your ADHD when you go to job interviews?
No. There's no good reason to, and a few good ones not to. Chiefly, they could reject you and make up any other reason why.

Ex-NFL punter Chris Kluwe arrested over protest at Huntington Beach City Council meeting
Kluwe was protesting Huntington Beach’s decision to display a plaque at its public library that uses the words, “Magical,” “Alluring,” “Galvanizing,” and “Adventurous” next to each other to spell out MAGA. All seven members of Huntington Beach’s City Council are Republicans.
Video from the city council meeting shows Kluwe criticizing the MAGA movement during the public discussion portion of the meeting, calling it “a Nazi movement” and then saying he would engage in civil disobedience. After Kluwe went to the front of the meeting where the city council sits, police handcuffed him and carried him out.
Kluwe was arrested on a charge of disrupting an assembly. He told the Orange County Register afterward that he was released after about four hours in custody.

Judge refuses to let man search landfill for his lost $713 million Bitcoin hard drive

You're leaving outthe part where he put the hard drive in a trashbag in the hallway
For those who've never heard the full story, Howells had two 2.5-inch hard drives stored in a drawer in 2013, one of which he intended to get rid of and another that had a digital wallet with 7,500 Bitcoin. He put the drive containing the crypto in a black trash bag during an office sort-out and left it in the hall of his house. His partner assumed it was there to be thrown away, so she took the bag to the local landfill, where it's been ever since.

Kamala Harris Paid the Price for Not Breaking With Biden on Gaza, New Poll Shows
To be clear, Trump's stance on Gaza is just the same, if not worse than hers. Everyone who sat out on principle did zero thinking about this and shot themselves in the foot and gave the rest of the Palestinians a death sentence.
In short, he said he'd "finish the problem," crush pro-palestine demonstrations, and that once it's rebuilt, Gaza "could be better than Monaco."

Ford's CEO and CFO took a drive in a Chinese EV. What they said next reveals a lot about the state of the US auto industry.
"Jim, this is nothing like before," Lawler told Farley, per The Journal.
"These guys are ahead of us," Lawler added. Farley's fears were piqued again in May when he made another trip to China, The Journal reported.
"John, this is an existential threat," Farley told Ford board member and former Goldman Sachs executive John Thornton after his trip.

Tech support for an elderly friend?
Many libraries and senior centers have programs to help seniors with tech. If he has an iPhone, then the Apple store is a good option too.
