Microsoft shot real lasers through a window to make Windows 10's wallpaper — surprisingly the iconic art wasn't computer generated
And then put it into an os that sloppily compresses its wallpapers before displaying them

10-year-old walks alone a mile away from Georgia home, leading to his mother's arrest
They asked me to put my hands behind my back and all that stuff, and I realized what was going on.
Because she was too dangerous to be cuffed normally, or not cuffed at all?
Als I hate this doubly for the kid. Your mom getting arrested for your slightest sign of independence will fuck you up.

How are you supposed to fine 7 vulernabilities in an hour anyways? No way they expect the applicant to actually find vulernabilities right? So you need to memorize a bunch and see if they are present, which doesn't achieve anything other than testing your memorization abilities

It's not the size, it's the content. Lemmyverse is a lot more serious and honestly, gloomy. Average age seems to be quite higher too. If all you used reddit for was news, politics, technical discussion and porn lemmy might be perfectly fine but there's way less meme or entertainment content here

Reddit CEO: We're Sticking With API Changes, Despite Subreddits Going Dark
How tf is reddit not profitable? When I first joined reddit it had a progress bar to the side that showed the percentage of server costs covered by reddit gold and it was always filled. Since then they started showing lots more ads, added reddit coins, awards and premium subscription to increase their revenue. The increase in their cost/user has to be from the native image/video uploads and redisigning the website/app. If YouTube manages to be profitable hosting 4k videos, reddit must be doing something very stupid to become unprofitable with their low quality videos.

Hackers discover way to access Google accounts without a password
Reply in thread
I would guess they invalidate all sessions when password is reset, that part is weird.
Edit: read the thing. The exploit is that they steal some special token chrome stores and by manipulating it they can generate session cookies for the hijacked account. This doesn't seem related to ltt

This is a huge upside of Linux. When something breaks you can make a web search and learn how to fix it, or that it's unfixable. On windows you make a search and all you get is this bs and seo article spam

I'm so sick of being stressed about the same thing over and over again. There needs to be a large scale investigation on the people that keeps trying to push this. I'm shocked there isn't a constant media outrage to match these attacks. And I don't hear anybody talking of codifying encryption integrity neither. It's always just privacy experts discovering such attacks at the last minute seemingly by chance and trying to rally people against it in time. Does nobody in positions of power who care to stop these?
