I can't remember where I heard it but some podcaster or youtuber pointed out that it's never been easier to have an alpha masculine job. In the past, you might be born into a class that meant you pretty much had to farm, but now anyone can join the police or the military, and yet a lot of these guys that are super concerned about the death of masculinity are not doing that.

the point is more that no one is forcing these guys to become software engineers and go to the gym in their free time. They can do whatever they want for a living. But they don't.

Anyone else notice how horror games have a tendency to make you really sad? It makes a lot of sense. Dealing with the supernatural means dealing with death. Psychological horror as a whole genre, is, well... you know.
