There is nothing Alpha about coming back missing limbs and soul, and crying in bed because of a crack sound that was a tad too loud.

There ain't nothing alpha about drinking yourself to death or overdosing in other to silence the overstimulated sensory.

There ain't nothing alpha about coming back and realising that nobody learned nothing and we're all just waiting to see the next generation shipped off for the next war.

I have no disrespect for those who take up arms for defense and their beliefs, but let us not glorify violence and tragedy.

Now it's being scared of the sound of pinecones dropping or mosquitos buzzing near your ear.

I can't remember where I heard it but some podcaster or youtuber pointed out that it's never been easier to have an alpha masculine job. In the past, you might be born into a class that meant you pretty much had to farm, but now anyone can join the police or the military, and yet a lot of these guys that are super concerned about the death of masculinity are not doing that.

instead they are usually joining these scammy bootcamps. or paying for pickup artists. some of them tend to be gymbros too.

Anyone who thinks farming is soft or feminine is ignorant.

It was in fact the movement from plows and lathes to keyboards and screens that have created entire industries for men to express their masculinity in their free time. Men who load 16 tons of coal don't go to the gym.

Anybody who looks down on farming needs to stop eating altogether. They're the kind who probably doesn't even know the difference between salt or sugar unless it's in a specific container they're servant prepared.

Farmer isn't "Alpha Male" because farmer isn't the sort of career path that gives you power over others.

That's what these people actually want. Power over others. Or status over others if that's all they can get, even nonsense racial supremacy bull shit.

Farmers are pretty powerful, you ever tried living without relying on them?

the point is more that no one is forcing these guys to become software engineers and go to the gym in their free time. They can do whatever they want for a living. But they don't.

Everyone I know who acts alpha about being in the military are the ones who never actually got deployed.

I'm a combat veteran and this has been my experience. The guy we put on full-time kitchen duty because we didn't trust him with a weapon was the loudest braggart around civilians.

Yeah... For the most part, the ones who've actually been in the shit tend to be real quiet about it, not really wanting to talk about it even if asked directly.

The ones who will talk your ear off about their feats of badassery ... always turns out that they're somebody who flunked out of basic training, or somebody who spent 4 years shipping boxes back and forth in supply.

I just remember all of those ww2 veterans that never said a word, even to their families. I have so much respect for those men for managing to shove something like that down and continuing to care for their families. I don't think I could do that if I'd seen what they saw.

Some psychopaths end up loving it. There are the rare nutcases.

This dude would tell me his stories about the military and how he would randomly run into this other dude who would start talking about dead bodies, just very little respect for the dead, joke about people he killed. Maybe it was a coping mechanism, maybe he was a psychopath?

It reminds me of that scene in full metal jacket where they run into the guys who kept a dead vietnamese guy around, put a hat on him and joked about him.

I'm worried by the possibility of aquatic combat that occurs next to a raised walkway extending out from the shore. Near-pier warfare is no joke.

me dressed up as a furry femboy for reason "you look really alpha bleeding out in my tiger trap. If you have enough testosterone you should be able to escape"

There’s no such thing as an “alpha” in biology (the concept comes from a methodologically flawed 1950s study of adolescent wolves in captivity), let alone human society, so an “alpha” is one of those things which is whatever people use the term as a placeholder for. Personally, I consider it interchangeable with “basic dickhead”.

Chimpanzees, gorillas, baboons, hyenas and African wild dogs have an alpha off the top of my head..

Not wolves, but nobody even mentioned wolves here
