The Revolution Will Not Be Live Streamed

People have this really wrong idea that the internet is a great place to organize because it exists. Honestly its a pretty garbage one.

We all agree that there are algorithms to keep us engaged which does not include leaving the house and getting back to doing things.

Fast communication through our connected world is useful but this idea that the internet or media at large is good "getting people to your side" is just wasted nonsense by people who have found a new faith in the "infinite" internet and think their prayers to it are heard more because they believe.

The world if christian lived by christian values

"Before our white brothers arrived to make us civilized men, we didn't have any kind of prison. Because of this, we had no delinquents. Without a prison, there can be no delinquents. We had no locks nor keys and therefore among us there were no thieves. When someone was so poor that he couldn't afford a horse, a tent or a blanket, he would, in that case, receive it all as a gift. We were too uncivilized to give great importance to private property. We didn't know any kind of money and consequently, the value of a human being was not determined by his wealth. We had no written laws laid down, no lawyers, no politicians, therefore we were not able to cheat and swindle one another. We were really in bad shape before the white men arrived and I don't know how to explain how we were able to manage without these fundamental things that (so they tell us) are so necessary for a civilized society. XXX

Hmm... There was a comic about women and serial killers that got me started thinking about this but...

Do you think both genders are being sold on extremes of the other that might be skewing our ability to interact rationally?

Like women being sold extremes of men abusiveness and cults and rapists and men on stingy or "slutty" women. And now both genders are spending less time with each other and more with internalized extreme versions of each other?

It's like maybe a symptom of a lack of social spaces or maybe just leads to less of them as people only feel comfortable in closed groups. I'm thinking we are all being taken for a ride.
Or people are way worse than I can consider.

14 pages of dead babies

Oh man, every Palestinian had an ID number? Man those could have just been tattooed on every person to make sure Israel could keep track of them better.

No idea why Israel didn't think of that. Seems obvious to use in your fenced in area that everyone has to be carefully released from for either work or because they died.

He came with receipts

The Internet as a whole seems a lot less interested in actually listening to anyone with credentials to back themselves up (Musk obviously included).
Literally, people will just "nuh-uh" a piece of fact for purely emotional personal reasons.

Maybe it's that we made the Internet so full of disinformation that everyone is just automatically refusing to listen to others, maybe we have created a social group that just assumes they are more educated than everyone else cause they read some stuff in the internet.

Maybe all the smarter people with credentials have done the smart thing and left the internet, cause if I hear one more person tell me I'm wrong and that people totally explode in the vacuum of space cause they watched a movie. (Someone even called me confidently incorrect after I provided the research paper I cited when working on decompression in a vacuum), I honestly will think humanity has no right to claim themselves master of any part of nature and I will praise the universe for wiping us out hopefully Armageddon style, with an asteroid with a bunch of oil drillers on it.

Paying your rent: it's that easy

It's the oldest profession for a reason. Everyone is selling their body just one gender can do it more directly more easily and with the Internet doesn't even have to do it with people interacting with their physical body anymore.

When times are rough, some fucker will still be horny.

Getting up to speed

It's funny to think that previous generations were medicating themselves too without admitting it. 1930s-70s amphetamines are all the rage until it's declared an epidemic from the incredible amount of usage.

Then hard pivot to cocaine use to replace the amphetamines, which ends up not being better (and maybe destroying some countries in the process)

And now here we are back to amphetamine usage and far surpassing the levels of the epidemic of the late 60s-70s.

So remember if your grandparents say they never had to medicate themselves back in the day just ask them how much powder they sniffed up their noses. Apparently everyone feels good with a bit of stimulation.

Democrats' David Hogg problem not over despite DNC's vote to remove him

Reply in thread

Full quote

“I’ll be very honest with you, for the first time in my 100 days on this job … the other night I said to myself for the first time, I don’t know if I wanna do this anymore,” he said in a May 15 Zoom meeting of DNC officers.
“No one knows who the hell I am, right? I’m trying to get my sea legs underneath of me and actually develop any amount of credibility so I can go out there and raise the money and do the job I need to to put ourselves in a position to win,” Martin said, addressing Hogg. “And again, I don’t think you intended this, but you essentially destroyed any chance I have to show the leadership that I need to. So it’s really frustrating.”

It really is frustrating that he thinks the only way to position to win is cash in the bank and no question of the effectiveness of members of the party. Especially when we have such a limited number of positions we can fill.

I think he just liked having an easy answer to why it's not going well in the existence of David Hogg.
