As someone with addict parents, PBS quite literally raised me. Like it was one of the only things I could watch for free that wasn't daytime talk shows, had it not been for PBS I'd have been raised by Jerry Springer and Maury, and I imagine that some kids were.

That's honestly enough. Republicans are filled with hate for anything that doesn't follow exactly how they expect people to live. They don't want freedom, they don't want expression, and they don't want anyone to be more happy or more successful than they are. That's why they hate so much and so hard, because other people's happiness and the freedom to achieve that happiness, pisses them off.

Because advertisers will say whatever works to get you on their platform.

Also its hard to make money for doing nothing anywhere when you don't have an established fanbase.
