CAH Gives You Your Fucking Money Back
They did a limited run of the game where the cards explain the joke so it was considered educational material, thus circumventing the tarrifs. Its pretty good, props on them for doing it.

iRobot’s revenue has tanked and it’s almost out of cash | "Roomba customers are understandably concerned about the impact these current financial troubles might have on their home cleaning robots."
Oh look, another example of a product that worked fine without internet connectivity and was improved by adding extra bullshit you don't actually need that then gets worse when those features can't function properly because their server is offline.
We got a basic roomba 650 (the one that crashes into stuff and randomly cleans) like 10 years ago and it still works fine (well, as well as it ever worked which wasn't great), you program the time and day of the week with physical buttons, and leave it alone.

Are Street Racers "bad people"?
Yes. Its risky for everyone nearby, there is literally no upside. If you want to race, take it to a track. Every track I have been to has some kind of open track night for like $20 entry and you get santioned racing with proper facilities and a safety crew on standby. Its moronic to do it anywhere else.

Students are speeding through their online degrees in weeks, alarming educators
Reply in thread
I did a summer "mini-mester" for my undergrad Fluid Mechanics class where the class was condensed into 4 or 6 weeks but you met every day and it was FUCKING BRUTAL even though I was only doing that one course. I can't imagine doing that for a full 15hrs of coursework. This smells more like a click through the classwork once randomly, figure out the right answers from the online quiz when they pop up at the end, then click the right answers the next time type of situation but for a whole program.
How this got accredited (if it actually is) is beyond me.

For what it is worth. I found out last week I was excluded as a credited inventor on a patent that I worked for 2.5 years on. Industry does this stuff too...

No one ever looks in pepper grinders until they are empty, you could put a decent amount of dead beetles in one and the owner never even know.
You must not use good pepper corns then if you can't tell the difference between pepper and dead beetles.

Hisense TVs force owners to watch intrusive ads when switching inputs, visiting the home screen, or even changing channels — practice infuriates consumers, brand denies wrongdoing
I have a HiSense TV and use ADB AppControl to disable/remove the telemetry or forced updates, and Projectivy Launcher to get a home screen/launcher that doesn't show ads. Both are free and work really well. I don't see trash on my homescreen anymore.

Here is where I am at and why. I believe that the next administration is a significant risk for the country, the envionment, and will likely have global geopolitical implications on what happens to Ukraine, Taiwan, and Gaza. The immigration policy and rehetoric is unbelievably hateful, not based on reality, and will likely be an unmitigated disaster. The promises to eliminate the ACA and governmental regulatory bodies/oversight in the EPA, FDA, and NOAA make all our our lives more risky and worse. Specifically though, they my MY KIDS LIVES MORE RISKY. If you are going to actively vote against MY KIDS, YOUR GRANDKIDS lives/futures in such a fundamental way, you don't get to be a part of my life.

I make decent money and live in Texas. My wife is currently pregnant and the state's policies on maternal care during pregnancy scares the shit out of me. In the case of a medical emergency money doesn't buy time.
The education policies being pushed by the state government are also terrible and private schools are not really any better in that regard. We could homeschool but I am not interested in that for my child.
The general rhetoric demonizing and taking the basic human rights of immigrants, LGBT, and other marginalized communities is also really hard to hear.
Several mass shootings as schools and public places with no interest in taking any kind of preventative actions is disgusting.
The property taxes have become a significant burden on our housing price with no sign of that changing anytime soon.
The state government is opernly corrupt and hostile to anyone who is not a Republican and quietly hostile to the Republicans who aren't high income, powerful, or political donors. Look at our power grid and the states actions after the freeze.
Money can't buy your way out if any of these. We stay because our families live nearby and we want our kids to grow up around them. If I could convince them to move with us, I would leave in a second despite living here for the last 30 years.

What thing at work made you rage quit your job?
I was told that I gave one of our young engineers a "crisis of conscience" for telling him about how a product we were developing needed some more work and testing because we didn't have enough data on it to release it for use.
Somehow management decided that I was poisoning the company and was toxic for not releasing a partially tested product that could either get people sick or set things on fire and then get people sick.
I was told to get on board and apologize to the young engineer for being a bad example or leave. I started polishing my resume, then turned in my resignation.
I spoke to the young engineer in a friendly and non-acusatory manner and he denied staying any of that to management, he claimed he understood what I was telling him and he agreed with my statements. We still keep in touch.
