You're thinking in the right direction, but you're not quite there. Yes, gender gets assigned at birth as your biological phenotype (because the overwhelming majority of humans identify as cis gender). Humans become individuals and eventually realize that maybe their assigned gender does not fit them. At this point it becomes their own choice and it overrides any gender assignment given at birth. Depending on the individual, gender changes from something that's assigned to something you assign yourself.

For long term storage, I would recommend using "M-DISC". I ran into this post on "all" and it has some overlaps with one of my areas of interest, data hoarding.

Most storage media (HDD, SSD, USB, MicroSD) have a lifespan rating of about 10 years. This means that after 10 years you should not trust these media to keep your data intact. BluRay is a bit better at ~20 years.

Like I mentioned, M-DISC would be your best best for long term storage. They are rated to last for 1300 years or so (which is obviously still untested haha). You can buy 250 GB of M-DISC storage for $40/€40.

If it works well for you, don't switch. Many Linux users are against Snaps, because Canonical "forces" them on you and they tend to take up more space. Ubuntu has become the Nickelback of Linux distros. Yes, it's not the best, but it's also not terrible and still a good beginner distro. Stick with what you like.
