Toyota And Nissan Admit Their American-Made Vehicles Aren't Up To Japanese Standards

Reply in thread

Not only that but Toyota as an example does a lot to localize their products. So for example, a Toyota built in the Northern parts of North America will have better winterizing. Whereas a Toyota built in a coastal area like much of Japan will be resistant to salt water spray.

While OP is trying to imply that Toyota is selling crap to American's because they think Americans are so stupid they'll never noticed, the fact is that a car built for Japan will not last as long in America as a car built for Americans.

Life goals

Yeah it's really tough at the start of your career. Low pay, long hours, no vacation, and starvation if you don't play ball. My advice is don't allow yourself to feel loyalty for any company or anyone in a higher position than you. They'll act like they'll have your back but the moment the calculus says throwing you under the bus is beneficial they won't hesitate. They won't give you the raise you deserve, so the only way to get that is to jump ship whenever it's beneficial for you to.

They don't owe you anything more than the agreed upon compensation, you don't owe them anything more than what's in the job description.

Joe Exotic's husband deported by ICE

Reply in thread

Yup! In America convicted felons are not allowed to vote in federal elections and depending on the law of the state they are not allowed to vote in state or municipal elections either. As a result of these policies a disproportionate amount of black and Latino communities have had their right to vote stripped away.

Not just pick up the phone and harass someone but to also have someone to press a lawsuit against if things go really wrong. With free software the liability typically ends at the user which means all they can do is fire the employee and eat the loss. Suppose now corporate paid for it, well now there is a contract and a party that can be sued.

And nothing of value was lost

On the vehicular manslaughter sure, on drunk driving charges, I should hope not. Sure this time a Nazi scumbag who deserves to die was killed, but next time it might be someone wholely innocent. Just because we hate the victim doesn't mean what she did wasn't reckless.

The problem with the idea of burning it all to the ground and starting over is that's exactly the Republican plan. Destroy so many institutions and cultural beliefs that there's nothing left to stop them. Meanwhile Democrats are writing a strongly worded letter to the person swinging the sledgehammer.

The better plan would be to fix what's broken, I admit it may be too late though.

It was also the 90s. To anyone who didn't live it I can not overstate how many benefits the McCallister adults had. Not even from the government just the world. The Soviet Union had just collapsed, China hadn't risen yet and Europe had just finally recovered from WWII. America was at the end of being uncontested internationally for 50 years and had another decade to go before it all starts to crumble. Being middle class in the United States meant you had a good paying job, not the single bread winner jobs of decades before but wayyy better than what most people are offered now. It was a very different time.

Flag burning incident near White House leads to arrest hours after Trump's executive order

Reply in thread

It doesn't matter, Trump can legally do whatever he wants, he's a king. 1/3rd of the population of America believes that Trump can rule unilaterally. The other 2/3rds are scared of the first and they should be. Trump and MAGA have the executive branch, the judicial branch, the legislative branch, the armed forces, law enforcement, immigration enforcement, and wall street in their side. They only group not on Trump's side is the general public and it should be pretty obvious now that he doesn't have any use for the general public. Trump won. He's king of The United States of America, I suggest you start to think about what you're going to do about it.

Exactly, it doesn't matter if Trump's administration makes life worse for MAGA supporters. He could make their lives a living hell for all they care, arguably they're already there. His supporters just want to see people they don't like get hurt. That's it, they want to witness cruelty. Any conservative who didn't jump off MAGA band wagon a long time ago has fully drank the cool-aid.

Damn, "Thoughts and Prayers!"

Not just parents dying but kids too. It was this guy's responsibility to make sure the people who managed the company would refuse as much life saving care for children as possible. I do not endorse anyone to commit murder ever, but I won't be shedding any tears when a monster like that is shot down. I do think it's okay to feel some sympathy for his kids, but they're wealthy. They'll probably be okay in time.
