What I did was make Aurora Store my default app to open links, search for the desired app on my browser, and then long press and open with external application as explained (in more detail) on this reddit post.

Portugal: Grândola, Vila Morena - Zeca Afonso. Probably not a hit when it came out, as it was banned by the dictatorial regime at the time but it became the anthem of our 1974 revolution, pretty much because it was the song that the revolutionary group chose to be played on the radio station (they took control of) to mobilize their forces.

Zeca Afonso has a bunch of other well-known (and really good) songs, all sung in Portuguese but this is the one most people know by heart. It helps that it gets played every year on the anniversary of the revolution and whenever there's a protest.

Yep, felt the same way on reddit. Sometimes, I started writing a comment but then halfway through I thought to myself "can I really muster the energy to engage with people who just skim through it or aggressively pick it apart and write an essay on how right they are with sources either taken out of their ass or taken out of context just to suit their viewpoints?". So I just ended up deleting it and go back to lurking.

Mine is 3 years old. Back then, I signed up but never really posted, just lurked for a while and went to explore Tildes instead. So yeah, didn't really do anything. I remember there being a few enthusiastic users about open-source software but also a few tankies, which kinda turned me off it. But I'm glad Lemmy's exploding with activity right now, as we got a more diverse userbase.

I don't watch that much Youtube nowadays (don't have much free time), but when I do, I enjoy these channels the most:

• Girlfriend Reviews: Entertaining, funny, and wholesome reviews. Really like their dynamic;
• GPLaps: Very interesting simracing channel, you get regular simracing content but also some very interesting videos about historic races, cars, tracks, etc., that he recreates with mods;
• Kilian Experience whenever he feels like uploading. Has been branching to other stuff aside from gaming lately;
• LordKnight: Fighting game-focused channel. Initially subscribed because he was the Millia player outside Japan but switched to Baiken since. Still has good, insightful content.

On PeerTube, there's BoilingSteam, who mainly focuses on PC gaming on Linux. I'd like to get a better feel for what's on there regarding gaming channels and whatnot. If you know any you'd recommend, I'd really appreciate if you could mention them.

ironically–and probably under the influence of reddit, where this has become completely gamed–i can’t stand this style of information sorting. i think it really only works if you have people mashing inputs for it with good faith and good understanding; otherwise, it descends into muck eventually. i do much better with either forums or real-time chats, probably because i go in with no expectations of what’s good or bad having already been sorted for me

On reddit, I used a userscript to hide upvotes/downvotes just to avoid that gamification. It made my experience much better because, like you said, I went in without expectations and forced myself to read and reflect on the content (both comments and posts) instead of having them presented to me as being good or bad.

I'm glad beehaw has, at least, the number of upvotes/downvotes on comments hidden by default.

As a fan of both games, this is perfect. And even though you can already be a space trucker in Elite Dangerous, there's no truck-shaped space ships, so I guess that's the untapped market they're going for.

Also, you can use teddit instead if you don't want to give traffic directly to reddit (as far as I know). It's pretty easy: instead of adding /.rss, you add ?api&type=rss at the end. See here.
