Extremely wealthy college friend refused to take the bus / train for this weekend trip
that's a level of wealthy 99% of us cant fathom. People like that detach from society more and more, their reality is different than ours. Shame..

I suffered from severe depressions as a teenager, and my therapist at the time suggested it might be due to gender dysmorphia. I was raised by women, no father figure, which made me a lil feminine in some characteristics. As a confused teen, i ate that idea up...
Years later i realized that wasnt it, and felt like my therapist was way too quick go with that idea. Clinging to a diagnosis was my way of keeping hope alive that i could fix the issue. I did fix it eventually, but not through gender reassignment surgery..

How the beehaw defederation affects us
i deleted my beehaw account and registered here as soon as i read about the defederation. They're trying to police the beehaw community way too much, bunch of softies imo..

Thats crazy, cant even imagine what their lives look like. We out here budgeting our monthly incomes and barely stay afloat, while others nonchalantly take a private jet when public transport would work just fine.

Making The Switch: Intermediate User Perspective
I have nowhere near the experience you have, but remember giving Linux a try like a decade ago, and promptly gave up...
Tried again half a year ago, this time with a little more patience, and successfully transitioned fully! Rocking Mint 21.3, and loving it!! Even my printer works, even the bkuetooth receiver for my Soundsystem!! couldnt be happier!

Let's build a community for all who are interested in crochet. Why don't we start with a little conversation on how everyone got into the craft?
ive been a proud hooker for about 3 or 4 years now i think. I am a person of hobbies. Hobbies are literally my life. without hobbies, life isnt worth living imo. I am curious about almost everything, and sometimes this obsessive phase of exploring a new hobby is triggered within me. One day, knitting got me really curious, so i tried it. managed to get the basics, made a scarf and some rectangles, but was irked by the fact that you cant knit as freely as i wanted, it was always row for row...and fixing mistakes was sooo hard!
then i somehow stumbled upon crochet, and instantly fell in love.being able to crochet in any direction, change colours on the fly...freestyle to my hearts content, it was GLORIOUS. I am a really slow learner though, and it took me foreeeever to 'get' how to crochet. i thought i would never be able to craft amigurumi, my favourite discipline within crochet. Counting stitches sounded too tedious!! i stayed with rectangular pieces for a while, basic granny swuares ( made a granny square with a 1.5meter diameter for my mum for xmas), then studied how to crochet in the round, figuring out stich markers and whatnot.
Nowadays i can proudly say im an advanced level crocheter, and my favourite thing to do is amigurumi! i can freestyle but prefer to follow patterns, and my craziest project was a 40cm big doll for my mums 52nd birthday, with a copper wire skeleton inside to make it posable and everything! The pattern is from CAROcreated on etsy, and instead of a cello i made a violin, since my mum used to play the violin in music school!!

Would you rather have the power of flight or invisibility?
i do with flying any day of the week. Having flown around in dreams, especially in lucid dreams, flying is like the most amazing thing possible. zooming thru the atmosphere, seeing everything from high up, feeling the G forces. My dream is to become a paramotor pilot one day. just need like 10k or something lol

Linux is not ready
Ever since I stopped gaming as much, linux has become infinitely more fitting to me. My main driver is Mint 21.3, it does everything i want it to. Its fun, and a great learning experience. Though obviously you gotta want to learn how to fix things if things go wrong, which they still do, but mostly at the beginning. After installing the right graphics drivers, and fixing touchpad scroll speed, everythings smooth sailing.
