He couldn't stop himself even though he knew what was coming
It's hard to decide which line was his biggest flub, but I'd have to give it to "I have concepts of a plan."

Eric Trump demonstrates in 30 seconds he doesn’t have a clue how tariffs work
It's hard to tell whether or not they truly don't understand, or they do, and they're just saying shit to rile up their base.
Not sure how much it matters either way, though. Consciously or not, it's still the spread of misinformation.

I still can't get over how they were essentially presented with a simplified version of the trolley problem and chose to not pull the lever.
By their own narrative that "the democrats are complicit in a genocide in Gaza", they were aware that Palestinians were metaphorically tied to both tracks, yet decided to not pull the lever when America itself and every marginalized person living within was also on the track the trolley barreled towards.

'Baldur's Gate 3': Patch 8 Will Get TWELVE New Subclasses In 2025
It'll be great to actually play Drunken Master Monk instead of just being an Open Fist Monk who drank all the time.

Kingdom Hearts AI art accusations hit Square Enix, and that sure looks like slop to me
What really pisses me off here is that this is the butchery of an actual art piece. They had a fantastic work but they wanted to shift the characters around a little for box art and had an AI do it.

The devastating cost of America’s favorite plant: A guide to the revolution | Make Thing With Hand
I've never understood the obsession with the plain grass lawn. Even aside from ecological reasons, I'd rather have native plants just because they look better.

Are Juggalos Allies?
Every Juggalo I've interacted with (sample size of 3) has been the kind of person I'd definitely consider an ally.
Potentially not representative of the greater community, but I've yet to experience anything to the contrary.

God when did racism, homophobia, and misogyny become the new opinions you can hold instead of developing an identity
Honestly? Maybe sometime around mid-late 2015 after Donald announced his first run for president.
The moment he was taken seriously, it emboldened all the chuds.
Upon further thought, I believe that year also marked the start of what led to Brexit as the UK Conservative Party won a majority. Not a great year.

Let people just use what they want, okay? It's their choice.
They would have come to Lemmy if it was the platform they wanted. We can bitch and moan about them wanting something that we think is against their best interests, but what'll that do?

If you call out literal Russian propaganda (RT/Rumble) on .ml YOU'LL get the bans and comment removal, not the propaganda!

I've noticed the same thing. I do think part of it is .ml has been accruing users from other, more widely defederated instances like lemmygrad and hexbear.
Trolls want an audience, after all.

SmartTube for TV and ReVanced/uYouPlus for Andriod/IOS devices. SmartTube can be tricky to set up depending on the TV, but the mobile apps are relatively simple to get working.

If I'm understanding correctly, I think "ERB" here is referring to "Epic Rap Battles" which would make the "starter" the first one to rap in the relevant video.

Not quite religion, not quite self-help: welcome to the Jordan Peterson age of nonsense
The "self-help" circuit always felt like a grift, so I guess going all out on the grifting was naturally the next step.

So this whole vigilante murder thing...
I've never been one to outright support vigilante justice on account of believing that everyone ought to face the same trials and go through the same systems to ensure justice.
I'm not an idiot, though, and I realize a system where our rich are held accountable to the same degree as our poor is incredibly unrealistic/borderline impossible.
"When peace is impossible, violence is inevitable." Paraphrasing, but given the system we find ourselves in, this was just a matter of time.

Bluesky, decentralisation, and the distribution of
I don't really get all the pessimism. Even if folks are right in saying there'll be a bait and switch, this is people moving to a new platform en masse. If Bluesky goes to shit there's more reason to believe users would just move again.
In the meantime, as members of the fediverse, we should be using Bluesky being "decentralized" as a way to ease people into actually decentralized platforms.

all because the national Democratic party failed us
Democrats are held to a higher standard than Republicans even by people who claim progressive ideals.

"No, I'm not doing nothing I'm raising awareness!"
What bothers me about the people taking the bit of time and effort to go vote for 3rd parties is that there's really no point to it. Making sure your own vote doesn't matter is insane to me when voting isn't mandatory. They could've just done nothing and achieved the same outcome.

After months of posts about the "Democrats being complicit in a genocide," I'm not going to pretend that "don't let fascism win" was somehow the standard they were being held to.
We all knew well ahead of time just how much worse Republicans would be.
