Happy pride month!

Reply in thread

Like I stated, I have amended my previously stance of "Knock yourself out" to a more pro active stance just because of the increased hate. I can't be just silently accepting.

And I am not talking about showing affection. A kiss, holding hands, hugging.

I am looking at the Pride parade and seeing floats of leathermen and gimps and other kinks. And I am not kink shaming, I just don't see how that is relevant in the discussion. If you need the whole hardware store to get it up is cool by me, I don't get why it needs to be expressed in the context of I like men/female/all the colors of the rainbow in between

Happy pride month!

Never really understood the issue, like it doesn't detract anything for the rest of us? I am straight, middleaged, married to a woman I have been with for 22 years. Why the fuck should I feel threatened by who someone loves.

For years my attitude to anything involving consensual adults that caused no harm to others:

  • Do I have to do anything? No? Well knock yourself out!

(I have recently adjusted my attitude to defend peoples right to do consensual things, as there is so much hate)

My gripe has been more in the lines that why the fuck do you need to show the world HOW you love someone? I support your right to make love suspended from load bearing beams by a metal hook up your anus in a latex gimp suit, but like fuck if I care for you to show me.

Toxic linux communities moment:

I installed Linux on my gfs (now wife) old laptop years ago when the beginner distros was way less user friendly. When I asked on a forum for help it was just the sound of crickets. When she made her first post starting with "my boyfriend installed Linux and I don't understand how to..." They fucking fell out trees to answer her questions

What is happening in Norway, and how do we spread it?

Norwegian here. I quit reddit and joined Lemmy after the API debacle. Installed mint because of W11. (A big factor was how Steam and proton enables me to play games)

Can't say either Lemmy or Linux has gotten any media attention in the big news sources as far as I can see.

I am the only one in my circle of friends that quit Reddit (most follow the various 40k reddits, and they have no replacement in federated options)

Decision Time

I will now cut back on all social media. Lemmy included as I get a depression from what's happening in the US. What is painfully obvious is that we Europeans must stop fucking around and federate so that we have a fucking chance wedged in between despots and idiots.

Debatable

At some point kids want agency, and hair is an accessible "medium" Youths will always show "rebellion" with hairstyles and clothes.

I will even fake outrage so not to spoil the fun

I believe him on a factual level, but not on an emotional level.

Am I the only non Belgian to enjoy Belgium? Decent cities like Brügge, Ghent, Antwerpen, Leuven and Brussels. Trappist Beer, Kriek, Moules frites. Excellent comics like Spirou, Tintin and Thorgal. And as a Norwegian I can relate to a football team full of stars that don't win shit. (Norway can never even qualify dor anything)

It shows that I have only ever been in Flandern, but guess there are stuff in Vallonia to.
