:-)

The woman who birthed my child didn't remember anything of the actual process, the pain is so bad the brain just kinda blocks it out after the fact apparently. I've read this is fairly common. One thing I do remember is how bad my hand hurt after all that squeezing, I needed like a whole two ibuprofen to fix it, talk about killer.

Thoughts on co-sleeping ?

It's up to you how you raise your kid. Does he have any special needs or other extenuating circumstances? If not, personally I would try not to make it a habit for him. Bring him back to his bed when this happens and stay up with him until he falls asleep again so he can be more comfortable in his own bed. That can be exhausting but I think it would be good for both of you if your son had some good independence skills.

Anon discovers cigarettes (Edit: Anon discovers addiction)

I can speak as someone who previously smoked for a decade+ and then quit. I started because some friends who smoked offered me one and I was dumb enough to say yes. Horrible. But there was a very nice immediate head rush/high. And then that led to friends continuing to offer cigarettes and me continuing to be dumb. And then addiction takes hold and it goes from there.

I probably didn't actually BUY my own smokes until I'd already smoked more than a carton off of other people offering.

And it is a HARD drug to quit. Still to this day when I smell someone smoking a cig I immediately get the "awww fuck I could really use one of those right now" urges

If someone pirates a movie for home use its no big deal because yes. If someone pirates a movie and then opens a movie theatre and starts charging people to watch the movie that's an entirely different matter. AI is a business generating income, not a person skipping out on a $4 rental fee.

Advice on helping a loved one through alcoholism?

Reply in thread

I know, we're both predisposed to alcoholism, we've both had family die to it. I've struggled with it a little bit myself in my younger years. I know that if she chooses alcohol over us then there's nothing I can do about it. And honestly it's right at that point now. I love her and I always want to be there for her, but if she pushes me away I...I mean I know I deserve better and I know I can't live like that but I'm just going to do my damndest for as long as I can. She'd do the same for me.

Thoughts on co-sleeping ?

I can sympathize, I was a nightmare for my parents growing up not being able to sleep. Though I usually was caught reading or playing video games instead. ADHD can be very hard to deal with and I wish you the best of luck

Would you become romantically involved with someone with vastly different religious views?

I'll chime in myself here. Am an atheist, have dated hard core Christian women, Wiccans, and atheists. I've found that religion didn't actively impact the relationship until it spilled over into daily life that my partner required I take part in. I actually really enjoyed religious history conversations with my more moderate partners. It started to break down when it was "shut up no debate this is how it is" and those are the relationships that ended badly.

I 100% understand your wife. I'm not that bad, but it's a consequence of being told you have to be perfect or you failed growing up, at least for me. If something doesn't go right the first time I still get that mini freeze "error encountered on line 1 please reboot" that my parents unintentionally instilled in me.
