It's Breathtaking How Fast AI Is Screwing Up the Education System
NGL, it’s really f*cking depressing when you give students 30m to create something of their own imagination, and they do it in the first minute with chatGPT and spend the other 29m playing games the phone and asking to “go to the bathroom” whenever they notice someone in the hallway.
The excuses you hear when you do something so oppressive as to request they keep their phones in their own backpacks for the duration of the task.

Sam Altman admits OpenAI ‘totally screwed up’ its GPT-5 launch and says the company will spend trillions of dollars on data centers
It annoys me that Chat GPT flat out lies to you when it doesn’t know the answer, and doesn’t have any system in place to admit it isn’t sure about something. It just makes it up and tells you like it’s fact.

Nintendo Wins $2 Million Lawsuit Against 'MiG Switch' Distributor
Nintendo’s asinine anti-consumer anti-piracy measures are probably causing more harm to the company than this guy ever did.
I might have actually bought a Switch 2 if Nintendo hadn’t pissed me off with their pricing and game cart shenanigans.

The algorithm
I’m certain my YouTube feed is trying to radicalize me into some kind of culture warrior. It’s really annoying. I deleted all of my watch history to try and reset it and it just got way worse real quick. I watch one stupid video, now all I see are angry tubers upset that people don’t think exactly like they do and enjoy things they don’t. Then they convince themselves they’re more enlightened than anyone else because they make this content and ban anyone who makes fun of them, all while claiming to be “free speech advocates” of course.
YouTube got bad so fast it’s left my head spinning.

US judge gives fiery response to e-filing "dominated by large cartoon dragon dressed in a suit" - Legal IT Insider
Reply in thread
NGL, I think it looks really unprofessional. Imagine “flower lawyers” putting a tulip in a cartoon suit and giving it a menacing expression, it would look just as dumb. Likewise, a dragon could make for a much classier design if approached in a different way.

Flipboard is going to let you follow fediverse accounts right inside the app
Reply in thread
I downloaded and registered for a Flipboard account way back when it was first created. At that time, it was just a news aggregator that felt more like a magazine because of how the page turn animations worked. It was nice because at that time there were no issues with entire articles getting fed into the reader, and it was a dream come true for iPad users in the early days.
These days, you can only read the first few sentences of an from the app and then you have to tap a link to go to the actual, often cookie-walled, website to read any more of the article.
On top of that, people who post comments in Flipboard tend to get insanely toxic. Like facebook-levels of insane hot takes.
For those reason, I don’t really interact with it as much and I’ve considered removing it from time to time. The reason I don’t is because I’m curious about how this fediverse thing will work out for it.
