*gasp*
So I only just got into linux this year. I gave some X11 distro's a go, but the screen tearing was awwwwfulll. So I've been running Wayalnd/Plasma for months now.
What exactly am I missing out on? Seems lots of users here still favor X11 over wayland but as I've never had any problems. It's still unclear to me why people are still sticking with X11.

Australian here. Sorry that's not a thing. Maybe if you gestured the thumbs up in a particular way? (Usually moving your whole arm up and of towards your shoulder? Honestly hard to explain in text). But that's kind of a whole new gesture, not a thumbs up.
Don't be afraid of doing the thumbs up here, we all do it and know what it means.

Real boomer energy. While graphics improvement flattened out, other things (that are more important) have continued improving.
Off the top of my head.. Zoomers got: Disco Elysium, The Outer Wilds, Undertale, and a million other indies.

Well that sounds downright diabolical. Can you link a source to read about it more?

Victoria to ban state school logos on shorts, pants, skirts and socks from next year
To OP: I think Uniforms are important factor to reduce discrimination based on class.
Just becauae you come from a poor family doesnt mean you should stick out from the crowd. Uniforms help equalize that playing field.

Ahh there you go, maybe hitchhiking culture was different down here. Although I don't think I've ever seen someone attempting to hitch-hike in my life tbh. Just not something people do anymore I guess. (Maybe it happens in more rural areas).
You're not wrong about your culture spreading though. Halloween wasn't even considered a thing when I was growing up. Now... depending on where you live you get kids attempting it. But it's still a minority. Many grumpy home-owners saying "this isn't America!" still exist.
'Dag' is certainly some aussie slang. Although I've never heard it used like that, I spose that might be its origin (sheep shearers are kind of a historical working class icon here). These days it's probably be more synonymous with "dork", or wearing some unfashionable clothing.

Car crashes have killed and seriously injured roughly the same number of people as shootings in Chicago this year. Only one of these things draws media attention.

Please dont source LLM. You can do better than this.

Can you link the thread/evidence? Given the right context that'd be pretty damning.

Doom (2016) now DRM free on GOG
Reply in thread
Tell me more, why for you is that the case?
I think doom 2016 does theme/story and just the over all 'fantasy' of being the doomguy WAY better. I really missed it in Doom:E. However I do really enjoy the way they built the gameplay loop into this frantic dance of violence.

I'd argue survivorship bias might skew your perception here.
I'm all for cheaper uniforms though.

One party deserves criticism for being insufficient. One party deserves nothing but scorn and opposition.

I always liked the idea of doomguy, an absurd character, being grounded in a little lore and just playing around with him decimating any kind of plot a villian was comming up with.
Doom:E seemed to build a bunch of lore that no one was really asking for. Does anyone really want to know "Who was doom guy?" I didn't. I really enjoyed him being barely a character, more a force of nature trying to eridicate demons. Rip & tear!

Which game is it?

Oh yeah, SS14 has finally made the game playable with high ping... anddddd has therefore I've put like 300 hours into it.
Its really one of the few games that seems to avoid a community of "meta-gaming" or "instrumental play" which sucks all the fun out of a lot of games with huge roleplay potential.
