World's Video Game Companies
Roblox fascinates me as someone who casually knows it. There's a huge ecosystem there just sitting inside a bigger gross child exploitation ring.
Billions of money sifting through kids hands while adults play simulation games with hardcore rules
Or so I'm led to believe.

I've got a coworker now and have had multiple others where this job was their first job in life. They just sold drugs before and, for some, after.
All of them didn't want to sell drugs but it was easy money for their skill set and it paid for their use. From what they said it was a pretty annoying job.
All you wrote rings true for me.

When money and power are funneled to the few then yes. Something more cooperative or democratic probably wouldn't have the same intensity of the problem.
I think it's only inevitable because of how our society is structured.

I may have a chance to see GWAR later this year; what should I know before going?
When I went I didn't bring any spare clothes. Took the train home. I don't think the color sticks much.
It was a long time ago but I don't remember any weird looks from anyone or feeling any different from leaving other concerts.
Gwar was a ton of fun and I hope you have a blast!

Wikipedia Says AI Is Causing a Dangerous Decline in Human Visitors

I can't imagine homeschooling. Not that I think it's bad but that it has to be so hard to do. And harder still to do it right.
Glad you pulled out of that course. PragerU is hot garbage and I hate how my autocorrect apparently knows PragerU and didn't try to change it to something else.
How hard do you find it to homeschool? How many hours do you reckon it takes a day?

There were more than one person using different techniques to screw with the LLM bots. Haven't seen anyone but them personally in a whole. I think they also mentioned their job or hobbies include something with old language.
I highly doubt changing a couple characters screws with the data scraping much. Or that it matters if it does but I also understand wanting to protect your own thoughts and words.

Pope Leo slams 'barbarity' of Gaza war as Israeli gunfire kills at least 93 at aid point
I'm not Catholic and live in the US
How much power does the Catholic Church and Pope really have anymore? I can't remember the last time anyone has mentioned the Pope in my day to day life. Not that I'm around people that would talk about it much to begin with.

There was also a study going around claiming that llms caused cancer screenings by humans to decrease in accuracy. I'm not a scientist but I'm pretty sure the sample size was super small and localized in one hospital?
Anyway maybe they're remembering that in addition to the automatic AI hating down votes.
Not that I'm a fan of AI being shoved everywhere but this isn't that

Epic CEO wants Valve and Steam to stop requiring devs to disclose generative AI usage

Yeah man you hit it right on the head. None of these companies can be good because by nature they can't. Decent companies can exist and they recognize customers as who are important.
Customers want a lot. Valve delivers a lot of what they want, gas lights some (I just assume), and the ones who are fucked are few comparatively speaking.

So maybe? Unless you are guerilla advertising for the Grounded 2?

Is there a place online where I can apply for a bunch of free books? I was thinking of creating a library in my local county jail to help educate and pass the time in a healthy way?

People like to read?
I'm not sure what you're asking. I grew up with books as gifts and access to a library. I would literally sometimes read a random book. Some of my favorite books are unknown because they're old and not remarkable to most people. They just got read by me at the right time to leave a lasting impression.

Therapists are secretly using ChatGPT. Clients are triggered.
I'd drop a therapist so fast if they were doing this.
Their main job is to listen. I've never had one who even took notes during our sessions.

What was the strangest reason you got in trouble in school?
Reply in thread
Did anyone else get in school suspension? That seems incredibly harsh.
I got a detention in elementary school because my mom made me late too many times. I wasn't even old enough to walk to school yet so it had to be 1st or 2nd grade. I was very confused and sad that day.
I don't remember what my mom said or even if I mentioned it to her. I wish I knew my teachers reasoning even if it was bullshit.

Americans’ junk-filled garages are hurting EV adoption, study says
My parents have a garage full of junk. It used to drive me crazy. We have strong storms where we live and a tree/branches falling are a real possibility of damaging their cars. Plus hail storms sometimes.
It's mainly my moms stuff. Some of it is worth money but it's not being sold or anything.
If they used the garage as something other than storage it would be one thing. Instead it's full of stuff for no real reason.

Anecdotally I have seen evidence of Trump supporters in my own life who have fallen off their love of him. Mostly though it's because their own lives have not improved. They aren't hardcore magas just people who don't know any better, are not smart, kind of racist, or just sucked into whatever rabbit hole they've found.
I doubt it'll change much what's presented in media and functionally who's voting for him/others like him. But it's been nice not to hear people praise him day to day in my own life.

Raccoin: Coin Pusher Roguelike | Announcement Trailer
Reply in thread
I loved coin pushers as a child. More so than every other gambling game in arcades.
I still like coin pushers. The few times I've been to arcades (the non good kinds) I've had fun with the coin pushers. Not the same fun as a child but still.
Most of the coin pushers on steam suck. Coin Push RPG is halfway decent. I've played enough to get my money's worth.
I have this game wishlisted. I'm sure it won't be the same as a kid but hopefully the extras will make it fun.
As a side note on the gambling thing, I sometimes play the lottery but I definitely have a problem with gambling. I stay away from real gambling as a rule. I know myself.

What is that random movie that you watched multiple times throughout your childhood only because your family happened to own it's DVD (or VHS) ?
My family had a collection of vintage looney tunes and other cartoons. I remember characters turning into giant versions of food on a deserted island. I also remember the beginning of an old Superman cartoon. I had always preferred batman
My buddy had a copy of Predator on betamax that I think was recorded from a cable station.
