My gf has the opposite, when she gets her injections, she detests any and all physical contact, about ready to bite my head off or break up with me. The week or so after, the polar opposite and wants nothing but affection, right up until the next round of injections. Not much different from a cis woman I suppose. This is a perfect example of why I want her to have her med routine overseen by an endo who specialises in transitioning meds. We're Canadian so it is covered, regardless we both have benefits that do cover it but she still prefers to monitor it herself. Idk, just pointing out your experiences may differ.

I feel you. Back when I was a police officer, after I was stabbed in the left eye socket with a broken beer bottle, I grabbed the 'suspect' by the neck and belt, used his head as a battering ram into the solid wood bar, causing temporary paralysis. Nerve compaction I'm told. Apparently I placed the cuffs on one of his arms and the barstool, but to be fair, I couldn't fucking see. Fight or flight is no joke. Never been to that level since but I do wear glasses now. Luckily both of us are okay long term although, one of us has a criminal record for assaulting a peace officer and one wears glasses. I should mention it was serving an arrest warrant for child abuse so I don't feel the least bit bad, but I shortly thereafter realized I couldn't do that job anymore because I was likely to kill someone. Cataloging child abuse does something to you.

Hey Dad, what do you do when you're not having fun anymore?

Same boat. Strangely never seen it articulated so well and mirroring my own position in life so well. What I'm learning is comparison is the thief of joy. Meds haven't helped me in the slightest, and I've tried everything and been self medicating for years with alcohol. Don't go there, it can always be worse. If this is my baseline, I'll do what I can, if for no other reason than to prove myself wrong. The alternative is unknown, what I have isn't great, I want more, but why do I need that? Why would a different situation mean things are better? What is the reason I feel I need that to feel better? I've isolated myself from a lot of external influence. Did a "reset" of sorts for the last 2 years. Got back to what drove me when I was younger. Things I actively searched out. I got back into my hobbies. I play bass again. I got physically active. My baseline has been elevated since doing those things. I still have the negative feelings a lot, but my "lowest" doesn't feel that low anymore. Like it doesn't register so much if that makes sense. I still feel nothing or blank, most of the time, but it doesn't feel so heavy. It's like every minute of every day has been for a reason, and feeling guilty for taking any time for myself wasn't productive in a beneficial way. But I have found that's exactly the point. Be selfish in the little ways. Read a book over doing the dishes, there'll be more either way. Don't vacuum, there isn't a news crew doing an exposé on your life. Let the obligations slip a little at the expense of personal fulfillment. I'm in no way a happy person, but I've learned a bit to not care so much. This all ends with death either way. I'm so done trying to do better. I'm learning to do good enough for myself. I think the 10 year old version of me would see how things are, and be proud that I'm not giving in to those insane expectations. I've found a tiny sliver of personal enjoyment, fuck what others think and expect of me. I'm in this world for myself and nobody else. I hope something I said gives you some clarity that was hidden from you. I could use more people like me in my life.

Feelings? Nah

Similar story here. 21 years and there's a child involved. Even similar 2 instances of dating that involved not being allowed to express my feelings without risking the relationship. So I did and ended both relationships. It would be nice if there was a choice that isn't hard. The only choice we seem to have is which hard we want. Both of which isn't a great ending. I've since given up dating altogether. Resigned to the fact that that part of my life is over. Just being a good and present parent, being nice and helpful to everyone in my life. I don't want to go through life alone but I don't seem to have a choice in that without being a doormat for someone else, which I refuse to do because if I did, I'd be showing my child to put up with never getting what you need from a relationship and that it's normal. I can't do that.

It is and it isn't. To use the onboard control to actuate the parking brake, yes, you have to use the paywalled software. But it's a simple motor. Positive and negative. If you disconnect the connector at the parking brake and use fused jumper leads to a 12v battery, you can cause the actuator to go forward or backwards. Make sure the parking brake isn't applied before doing anything, disconnect the cars battery, disconnect the p brake connector, jump the terminals once you figure out which polarity causes the retraction. Manually compress the caliper piston, replace the pads (and hopefully the rotors too). Pump the brake pedal as you would normally once everything is replaced, reconnect everything, and you're good to go. in my experience this doesn't work on ford but there's a service procedure that doesn't use a scanner to force the park brake into service mode. There's always a way around dumb stuff like this
