The quality of posts and responses since the "exodus" is completely apparent to any longtime reddit users. Admittedly elitist as it is, the spelling and grammar by it self has been base level evidence of that. Not to mention the myriad of other ways its taken a nosedive.

Reddit has already been in decline for a long time, but from the few times I've checked since the protests it's much worse now, and quickly getting even worse. And as you said, most of the people left there do not care which is disappointing.

Unfortunately as optimistic as I was about lemmy, so far I'm not sold. Theres all of the same issues here if not more. We may have witnessed the birth and death of something really cool within a very short time (considering). Even if true options take a decade to build up I think it's too late. The experiment has concluded.

It makes me sad because reddit used to be a really cool place. Rules were about allowing truly contributive content to be disseminated. Up votes were for ideas that added to the conversation in a meaningful way. Downvotes were reserved not for points that were disagreed upon, but thoughts that did not add substance to the conversation. It was a much better community to be a part of back then. That environment just doesn't exist anymore on a broad level.

I'm not a developer of any sort, but I'm super interested if a "folding at home" style option is doable. I can't front the costs for a whole server for an instance, but I'm totally willing to contribute some resources from my pc to avoid falling into the same reddit trap. If we all did it as users I think that would avoid the centralization problem as well as distribute costs effectively.

Imagine wanting some popcorn and candy to top it off... streaming from home is the way to go now and they did it to themselves.

It's a shame too, because there are some movies that just benefit from that large form factor viewing. I'd love to go see Oppenheimer on imax but I'll be damned if I have to spend 50 bucks to go watch it alone with some refreshments and snacks.

As someone who's lost their partner recently, this is exactly right. My favorite shows used to be medical ones and I cannot even see a commercial in a medical setting without getting pulled back to that day instantly. I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD because of the experience.

Sounds like OP has PTSD also. Meds and therapy for him and her, especially couples therapy, would be what's needed. Don't know what that looks like in a 3rd world country though.

My fiance and I loved hellofresh. They send you recipe cards with each meal, and we'd save the good ones so we could store buy the ingredients and make them again.

The meals are varied, but since you pick them I'm sure you could find heart healthy options.

Cost is pricey but they all are. And once you have those cards it's a lot easier to pop into the store and get the ingredients you need if you really liked a meal.

There is a "barista" style oat milk that does great with steaming. Wish I could remember the brand, but it's in the US if you're there and works really well.

For a non reddit meme answer, as those have grown quite old: a quick Google says planting or spraying peppermint around, or used coffee grounds around the roots. Either are a natural deterrent according to Google.

I personally have used coffee grounds as a rose bush fertilizer for a while and it's worked great. Might be a good move if you're a daily coffee drinker.

Morbid but with the amount of school shootings that have happened the more people that can call 911 the better. The kids need the phones to possibly save their lives. Signal blockers are not the answer.

Worries me a little bit on the scalability side of things, but honestly I kinda hope this place doesn't get as big as reddit got. I enjoyed that place a lot more before it got huge. The content and conversations were just better all around.

The other thing might be the amount of sun it's getting. My pepper plant leaves start to yellow and fall when they're getting too much sun. I recently moved them to a shadier part of the yard and the yellowing has definitely decreased.

Only other thing I can think of is Temps. My hydrangea plant is absolutely hating the super hot weather we've been having lately and dropped more than half its leaves also. Not much you can do about that outside of moving it inside if its potted.

Try it with some cinnamon and sugar on top with steamed milk of your choice. Spanish latte, and they're one of my favorite espresso beverages.

Do a good long pour of boiling water in the v60. Make sure it's hot to the touch. This won't eliminate temp drop but at least help.

Another question: is it a glass v60 or plastic? The plastic ones work much better at keeping the temp counterintuitively.

When was the last time you repotted? If it's been in the same pot for years it might have gone through a lot of the good stuff in the soil already, if it hasn't been washed out through watering.

Have you looked I to fertilizers? Might help avoid fully repotting.

I'm in no way a professional at this stuff but I ran into similar issues with some pepper plants I've had for years and they definitely perked up after repotting.

Hard to tell without knowing your grinder.

I have an original ode, grind on a few steps before low, and usually 16-17gs of ground beans. Brewed in a plastic v60 with paper filters, this tends to be fantastic.

There's so many variables here that it's hard to give a good diagnostic. But mentioning the grinder and the brew method might help substantially.

Also, if you already found the sweetspot for the bag youre on don't question it. The quality will change from bag to bag, for this bag if you found 15gs to be what you're looking for then stick with it til the bags gone. Don't look a gift horse in the grill as it were.
