If you long tap the comment, it hides the buttons.
But I agree that it should be hidden by default. And swap the long tap and short tap behavior.

Custom ROMs fell out of fashion some time ago, since Android has caught up quite well and more apps refuse to work if rooted.
The first apps I always install are Nova launcher, SwiftKey and Firefox (with ublcok origin addon).

Yeah I liked the story a lot
