I don't know if this is helpful at all but I fled TX for much less and never regret it. I got lucky though, had a friend who put me up for a couple years in WA until I could get on my feet. I know TX does have some small pockets of good people, if not reasonably tolerable. Hopefully you can find them if you can't/won't leave but fwiw I don't think you can fight a whole State/province. Go where you can be happy.

I feel like this all ignored the complete bastardization of any sense of language or definition in American politics. None of these words mean anything and engaging in it is playing party to the fucked up games people have invented to delay any sort of growth or action.

'Liberalism' is the blood-shy self-blind median our parents and grandparents wanted for us so we didn't have to watch our friends die in imperialists wars in Asia. Libertarianism was supposed to be a rejection of any of this and got coopelted by some of the most evil freaks in the system. The Left represents the most meaningful and poplist messaging we can mannage and is still consumed by bickering from people who can't walj and chew gum or breathe at the same time.

He represents a vocal fraction of functional leftists who are successfully infiltrating the DNC so everyone's pissed because the people he promotes are generally more policy focused and actually grass roots politicians who appear, for the time being, to actually be dedicated to some kind of reform and actually have the momentum to achieve it in a reasonable timeframe.

So nowthe GOP is pissed because they aren't the only populists, the DNC is pissed because they might actually have to put in effort to get any electoral power, and the leftists are pissed because literally nothing can make them happy, and at the cemter of it all is a succeasful, rich, 6'5" himbo who streams 8 hours a day and has consistent messaging that might actually end up meaning something long term. Real easy target.

I have a base, flat amount of respect for anyone who is willing to speak out and call nazis nazis. Right now there's a literal dark money fountain available to people who want to defend Israel, for instance, and anyone who isn't taking that and still willing to ragebait probably isn't 100% terrible. And real talk hatesubs are not real. That's some wild conspiracy stuff. If they are, then fuck it, get that bag. Flat respect who can get people to pay to say how much they hate your titties on a platform where you'll be instantly squuelched and still take your money.

I think the most upsetting part of AI is discovering how many people were so ready for it, like they were just waiting for something to show up that they could offload their lack of creativity or responsibility onto.

Personally I think at the beginning thely were cute, funny, and at bare minimum I give bonus points to anyone starting out trying to do something rather than listen to di guses who think that there's a hard baseline for content.

But I do think she became some sort of Reddit beast that got stuck in a flattery eddie off to the side of the R/ALL tributary and stopped getting meaningful criticism and it hurt a lot of her output and growth.

I generally don't like Hickock45 because if you watch any of his non-gun content he likes to leave things in a hedging, vague, "all I'm saying is..." context and honestly if he can't say what side he's defending then he's kind of just being a douche.

He's 6'5" and is an avid... well he's not a bodybuilder and he's not an athlete in the sense that he does -a- sport seriously, but he stays fit. It's a grwat example of what anyone could achieve if you actually dedicated the time to it in parallel with spending 8+ hours a day at a deak playing games and watching internet videos, news and otherwise.

Personally I feel a great deal of sunk cost as a late-in-life diagnosis. I kind of sympathize with both sides because I had to learn to mask without even knowing I was masking or that it was a thing I was doing. Now when I think about just 'being me' it feels impossible and like starting over trying to deal with people I've never understood to begin with.

It's tough. I wouldn't be too hard on either. For some people masking just keeps things from spiraling out of control, and for others it's an effort that causes strain the other way around.

I didn't even realize how bad it was until I made comments on a voter suppression thread and then systematically had all of my commenta deleted and THEN argued with by the mod who deleted them in a show of true democratic debate.

After a couple days they just banned me without cause. Think you can still go and see the mod arguing with "comment deleted by moderators"
