Well i sure wouldn't call that an OPEN ecosystem

New Nintendo patent suggests Switch 2 may solve joycon drift
Reply in thread
N64 does use optical sensors, the n64 stick is actually super precise and doesn't suffer from drift. The n64 is a goofy controller but it is simply a great and accurate input device, and a lot of the games were really designed with that stick and notches in mind.
But it is made of all plastic and features plastic on plastic moving parts, without lubrication, so it suffers from wear of the plastic. Worn n64 sticks will actually be filled with plastic dust from the stick and gears literally sanding themselves down. The only problem with the controller is the premature wear of the stick.

Got a Chromebook? Worried about the change?
Reply in thread
It can absolutely be done, I've been running uefi modified Chromebooks for a while, my 12th gen intel Chromebook even runs windows now.
https://mrchromebox.tech/#devices Nearly every Intel Chromebook is supported and once flashed they boot like traditional computers.

I don't recommend galliumos anymore, it is an abandoned project and hasn't seen development since 2021.
If your Chromebook is compatible you can flash a full ROM bios and convert your Chromebook to a normal laptop and run full Linux or depending on the device windows 10/11.

That sounds like a Subaru problem, on my Chevy the carplay and Android Auto interface are the same exact size and take up the whole info screen.
My old Subaru wasn't like that either.

Was it ever not too late? We still haven't arrived a a point where we aren't making things worse. I just don't think even if the countries that could have implemented positive changes we would have just delayed the inevitable.

YSK the updated steering wheel hand placement
Reply in thread
That is just because of people holding on to the wheel during a collision, doesnt matter the wheel holding position just if the thumb is wrapped around the wheel. If a crash is unavoidable letting go of the wheel and letting the belt work is the safest. In formula 1 when the drivers are unavoidably heading twards a wall youll see them cross their hands on their chest so their arms dont fly around during an accident.

Im not sure he can even do that, it seems it's either super conservative and he isn't faster than the other cars or pushes too hard and makes mistakes.

The US just invested more than $1 billion into carbon removal / The move represents a big step in the effort to suck CO2 out of the atmosphere—and slow down climate change.
Reply in thread
Of course it's a scam, we have millions of polluting sources a few CO2 removal sites could never counter act that. Sure it helps but it is a band aid on a gunshot wound.

A rant about quick time events
This is probably my one complaint about the new spider man, What you think is a cool cinematic all of a sudden a Button prompt jumps up and you gotta scramble to hit it, Always catches you off guard and never feels engaging. So many unnecessary resets just because i wasn't aware that a qt event was coming.
