Is there a way to geht honest feedback on how you behave?

Reply in thread

I understand, one can manufacture a playbook to analyze an individual, just like the one you provided for my two questions.

Still, the problem remains, as it is with most human interactions, there's no objective answer, it all varies based on human nature and the environment involved.

What is their track record? If it's consistently good, then that's kind of a really strong voucher, no?

Indeed It is an indication, but it does not guarantee an absolute answer like: Helium is heavier than Hydrogen; a fact that can't be disputed.

Can you verify that everything, or at least most of what, they said is correct?

True, you can do that, but if one is asking for another's opinion, it is hard to evaluate it yourself, there's bias all around us, more so when we are not aware of it.

I understand your approach, and maybe I'm being a bit pedantic, but I can't see how this isn't a really complex problem, with no exact solution.

Feel so good

It is a tool to scratch one's head. It has those thin bending wires than envelop the head when you press the tool against it. It feels SUPER good, for those who like tho have their head scratched.

A common misconception, the teflon molecules are very stable and don't react with almost everything, when ingested it usually just goes through your system in and out, no considerable interaction.

Now the other chemicals used to make Teflon ARE TOXIC, and are present literally, and I mean literally, everywhere on the globe.

Here's an educative video from Veritasium about the subject, super interesting watch.

I'm no AI fan by any means, but it's really good at pointing directions, or rather, introducing you to topics that you didn't know how to start researching.

I often find myself asking: "Hey AI, I want to do this very specific thing but I don't really know what it is called, can you help me?". And sure enough I get the starting point, so I can close that down and search on my own.

Otherwise, trying to learn anything in depth there is just a footgun.

Could he 0ass the test?

Honest question, why does wanting a politician to know the absolute bare minimum of civics, hence being a regular society member, is akin to a socialist democracy?

Follow up, if a civics test would be mandatory for a politician job, it should also be free to every taxpayer, period.

The goal is to let the players win and feel cool

I wouldn't use "win" here because that's not always the case. I'd say'

"The goal is to acknowledge players decisions and show that their actions matter, regardless of the final result."

Not paying attention in the Grub menu

I see some comments trashing dual boot, I really don't understand why. I have really nice setup with Debian 12 and Windows 10. Boot pc, get to work on Linux, and other projects after. When I'm done and want to game a bit I switch to windows.

I have no need to setup funky VMs to bypass games made strictly for windows, and also don't have performance limitations.

Just use the right tool for the right job folks.

Physicists Just Ruled Out The Universe Being a Simulation

Reply in thread

I did some light reading about the Goedel theorems.

The First Incompleteness Theorem

  • In any consistent formal system that is powerful enough to express basic arithmetic, there exist true statements that cannot be proven within the system.

Second Incompleteness Theorem

  • No consistent system can prove its own consistency.

Therefore, wouldn't it be strange to rule out something using our current math/physics systems? Blackholes, neutron stars, quasars and other funny things that can't be explained exactly DO exist after all

Wouldn't be strange that an hyper advanced civilization could simulate us with tech, energies or even nature laws beyond our comprehension
