it's just pure racism at this point

Reply in thread

Is he racist, or just a blondophile? I find certain qualities in a woman attractive, if one of those qualities was curly hair, would I be racist towards east Asians who have straight hair? I mean, if the dude posted "this woman is ugly and unattractive cause she is dark skinned" then yeah, racist. But... "I'd prefer her as a blonde", is that racist?

This is some Los Angeles Trump supporter LMAO.

Ancient Rome had privatized fire department. Caesar's friend Crassus got the job and used it to extort people to sell their homes in a neighborhood when a fire broke out. As a result he became one of the richest people in history. He was also killed by the Persians who poured liquid gold (or silver, depending on source) on his decapitated head and sent it back to Rome.

Micro-retirement

Hi, Norwegian here, we have 5 weeks vacation per year, mandated by law. Oh, and the government takes 10% of your paycheck every month and pays it all out in July, so you have the money to go on vacation. Strong labor unions is the recipe.

Wikipedia owner signs on Microsoft, Meta in AI content training deals

Argh. As a Wikipedia supporter this grinds my goat, if I can maul two expressions at once. On the other hand, reading the article I see that AI is scrubbing Wikipedia already and it's driving up costs. What wiki is doing is creating a model where AI companies will pay them for what they're currently doing anyway.

I don't like it, but until they can be blocked or otherwise prevented from access, at least wikimedia should get something out of it. However I fear that this will lead to dependency on AI money, and that, that's not good.

  1. That must be quite frustrating and difficult for your self esteem.

  2. You may be right, but you might be putting your own insecurities on to the motivations of others. The world from other people's perspective don't always align with what we think. Could what you describe be as easily explained by something else, perhaps even your insecurity about it?

  3. Have you discussed this issue with friends / family and gotten their honest thoughts? Do they agree that what you say could pose a problem?

  4. Have you attempted to make yourself look older with makeup and such? Are the results the same with as without?

  5. Do you have male friends you can ask if you are attractive?

  6. Are there republican conventions nearby? If the men there show interest and say you're mature for your age, you may want to A. Run B. Conclude that your features may be a challenge.

  7. If men don't approach and talk to you, try approaching and talking to them. Showing you're interested and available is usually a turn on. Men are simple.

Best of luck.

Always remember to flex on your disciples

Dude! This is the most prophetic thing in the whole Bible. Hear me out. Simon son of Jonah (not the whale guy), is a fisherman, and Jesus tells him to come along and fish people instead. Jesus gives him a nickname, Kephas, this nickname was then translated from Aramaic into Greek, Petros. Jesus later says that "On this rock I will build my church", and that's the meaning of the nickname Kephas/Petros, Stone, or Rock.

Now considering that Simon's full name was Simon bar Yonah, in English: Simon son of John, or even Simon Johnson, then his full name with Jesus' nickname is: Simon the Rock Johnson!

Funny coincidence? Skipping ahead a few thousand years, our current Rock is called Dwayne, and the meaning of that name happens to be Fishhook. And if you really wanna bring it home, Dwayne the Rock Johnson's daughter is named... SIMONE! We've come full circle! The end times are near.

Am I mad as a hatter?

Andrew Tate is ’too smart to read’ and says books are for ‘slow brains’

Dear Andrew. You need to fill your head with stuff cause you're unable to sit in the silence of your own mind since it's shouting what an utter failure you are at being a decent person. You've hurt so many people, and deep down you know that ain't right. It's called cognitive dissonance. I want to hope you can become a whole person someday, but frankly you don't deserve that. Honestly I can't see you as anything other than a drain on society.

Union leaders accuse Trump administration of ‘shift toward white supremacy’ with online posts

What does it take for people to realize that the pooch is screwed, the frog is cooked, the tomato squashed, the cat's out of the bag and dead in the box? The emperor is naked, and doing a nazi salute, the evidence has been lost in the noise, the law broken, the perpetrators have gotten away with it, the grand wizard revealed behind the curtain, the good guys lose, it's really dark outside, the dragon ate the fucking hobbit AND STILL people are saying "You know this could be not cool" instead of "It's general fucking strike time".

Ever seen good old Babylon 5? When the corrupt president seizes the media and uses it for propaganda etc. There are still good people in the media, but they can't be openly critical or they will be removed. Subtle jabs like this are pretty much all they'll be willing to risk.

another world is possible

Yeah, I mean, yeah, but... the problem with anarchism isn't that it's stupid, it's that people are stupid. Most anarchists are smart and see the world through their perspective, which is, people are empathetic, rational, and interested in nuance and complexity. Unfortunately, a large number of the populace is not that smart, nor that interested. Anarchist societies don't exist or if they do, they don't last, because the premise is wisdom, which so many people lack, that they would rather have a king, than deal with the complexities of being one's own master.

Democracy dies in darkness

Ok. I bet most of you know this already, but there's 10 000 every day, so here I go.
Iran is a country based on a strict adherence to Shia Islam. While many people are secular, the roots of Shia Islam go back to the early days following the death of the prophet Mohammed. Long story short, there was a succession struggle, and Husayn, who was Mohammed's grandson lost and was killed by the corrupt Umayad dynasty. Those who supported Husayn became the Shia, and branched off from Sunni Islam. The fundamental idea in Shia Islam (aside from the prophet and the Quran) is the example of Husayn, who rather than surrendering when outmanned 72 to 4000, chose to fight for truth and justice, and dying for it. His martyrdom created shi'ism.
They celebrate/remember his martyrdom in a 10 day long festival every year. I'm not sure if intimidation is gonna work on these guys.

Fun fact, the Soviets were the real space pioneers. They pretty much were first at everything except the moon landing.

I can back this up with a list from one of Carl Sagan's books if there are sceptics out there.

Good question

Play. Actual children's play. I have kids in the house, two sets, one lives with mom most of the time, others live with me. One set has screen limits, the other doesn't. One 10 year old plays with their Legos and one doesn't. Now this could be chalked up to personal differences, but it seems very correlated to me. And I see it clearly when other kids are visiting, less screen time = more creativity and play.
