Greta Thunberg Slams UK Government Ahead of 40C Heatwave

You have to admire her ability to talk so passionately about a subject she apparently knows nothing about.

The UK has one of the highest reduction in co2 emissions in the developed world and the current government has bought forward targets and introduced an unprecedented level of direct investment to make that continue.

In simple terms there are about 65 countries with a higher per capita co2 emissions than the UK. UK emissions have reduced by about 4% per year for several years running whereas countries like India and China are increasing in double digits.

UK should be applauded for doing more than it's fair share.

Useful quick reference for anyone who cares:

One of the advantages is that if you have to buy a Pixel to use Graphene then you are basically rewarding Google (even if you are buying secondhand). E/os USP is it comes pre installed option on Fairphone which are the moment is the most ethical way of buying a phone - if that is of concern to you. It is to me so I have bought one. By all accounts they have solved a lot of compatibility issues with banking apps so I might give eos a go myself.

All my work computers are provided by the companies I work for and per their rules I can only take and store notes using their approved software and on their servers which basically means I work on a locked down Microsoft ecosystem. Access to third party productivity software is simply not possible outside of certain role specific specialist software.

I would guess literally millions of employees have a similar setup so it's not that we are tech illiterate per say, but more accurately in the corporate world this option doesn't exist so there is no point trying.

Outside work my productivity tools consist of a Moleskine notebook with tasteful check paper.

I habitually downvote anything referring to the site formerly known as twitter, especially if it's a pointless screenshot. Glad I read a bit further into this one if that is your attitude.

Why is the screenshot even nessecary? Does somebody think that posting on X is somehow more legitimate than anywhere else?

I also downvote about 10 posts a day entirely by accident because the downvote button on my screen is about 4 pixels and rests in the natural scroll area.

My point is that a downvote probably doesn't always mean what you think it does.
