Which Futurama line(s) do you find yourself quoting for no raisin?
I hate these filthy neutrals...

What weird things have people done to your motorcycle?
When I had a CRF250L, I'd regularly have women come up and ask how heavy it is, because they're thinking of buying one. I'd put the bike on the ground and show them how to lift it. So... weirdest thing is dropping my bike intentionally to let women pick it up for me.

Anybody have good guides on repurposing old 32bit laptops?
For the really old stuff, I used to do NetBSD. I'm sure their 32bit x86 support is still top notch.

Are there any Vanilla Expanded mods you avoid?
Same. I loved the idea of what VE does but playing the game was just a confusing mess for me. I stick to the same 8 mods I always use.

Just started using lemmy and while I don't currently own a motorcycle I will post a picture of what I help build everyday
This is amazing looking, are they all hand built? If anyone at Janus wants to do an AMA with our tiny (but growing fast) community, that would be incredible.
We were 400ish last night and hit 530 overnight, not sure what's driving so much traffic here, but I'm not complaining!

Tar snakes are about as bad as grass clippings or pine needles on the road to me.
Combine this with grooved pavement, surprise gravel road detours, potholes... you wonder why some of us gave up the sport bikes for dual sports. Sport bikes are great, roads are getting terrible.

Step 1) Have a bike that women want to talk about. I think that's about it.

Any guidance for getting started with RSS feeds? Suggestions, softwares, what makes you enjoy yours, and how your keep it curated?
I'm using Feedly for mine, and you mostly just search for topics you're interested in or slap in a URL for an existing RSS feed. Some sites even just work if you put their regular URL in.

I loved this book series. I hope they don't softball on the Chinese cultural revolution parts.

The GPT-3 Architecture, on a Napkin
I've got a background in deep learning and I still struggle to understand the attention mechanism. I know it's a key/value store but I'm not sure what it's doing to the tensor when it passes through different layers.

Yamaha SR400 Tire Change
Reply in thread
It's a good policy. Not much wrenching on a bike is really hard, but a lot of it has tricks that make things faster/safer/easier. Tires fall into that category, but even then a super stiff sidewall can turn the process into more exercise than you wanted that day. Some jobs, like brake work are better if you have someone experienced there to double check the work. Valve adjustments sound like a nightmare, but it's just some easy math, a magnet and fighting with a rubber gasket for an hour (screw you Honda!)

Riding before driving?

True. Like 16 years of riding, and I find I do less and less riding anywhere busy. My perfect riding day is forest or backroads.

Intel is quitting on its adorable, powerful, and upgradable mini NUC computers

These are amazing. Dell, Lenovo and I think HP made these tiny things and they were so much easier to get than Pi's during the shortage. Plus they're incredibly fast in comparison.
