Little pets

Yes, that happens. The far more serious problem, though, is the widespread support among workers who gain nothing from it. The ideology we absorb in the West from an early age goes something like: "Anyone can make it. It's just a matter of hard work. And therefore, those with even less than you are lazy and deserve their fate." That dynamic is far more consequential than a handful of top earners.

Once Bitten, Pee Shy

Yeah, it's a trend on Reddit that's spreading (see what I did there? Heh, sex). I don't like it at all. The punchline is either non-existent, "heh, sex" or women being horny. Just uninspired stuff. I get why the artists do it, it pays the bills. But I'm not too keen on it.

Sunday question: What do you say about Berlin abolishing the 30 km/h speed limit because the air has improved thanks to the 30 km/h speed limit?

This really hurts my brain. How can politicians be this shortsighted?

I'm living here and you are absolutely correct. Public transit is good. Most streets are 50 km/h. Some are 30 but that is oftentimes not enforced.

Several studies have shown that a speed limit of 30 km/h can massively reduce the number and severity of accidents. But as Germans we hate the idea of slowing down for other road users. We bought those shiny non electric cars and we want to blast through the city, god damnit!
