what is wrong with c/linuxsucks?
Reply in thread
Damn I wish I was forced to use linux in my every day life. All companies here seem to require windows for some reason.

Seems like safety won't be an issue in the future with self driving cars, because they will all be standing still in a traffic when we all use them
Reply in thread
But at what point would it just be better to just have a self-driving bus, or even put a railway instead?

I've heard about socks for obfuscation of vpn traffic, but never understood how to configure it. Is it possible to use socks with your own wireguard server, or with some free/cheap vpn?

So AskLemmy is ok for any kind of question?

How to deal with holding phone calls?

Yeah, it just feels so exhausting to me every time. I definitely prefer the callback option, but I might still miss it if they call back much later and I already forgot about it. Then I have to call again and ask for a new callback.

Sounds very similar to my experience.
Email is much better, but some services either don't offer the option at all, or they reply to it very slowly.

Yeah exactly.
Usually I try online support first, but in some situations you get a person that doesn't understand your question or doesn't forward you to somebody with the right knowledge and you still spend way too much time on it. Calling would be better in that case, but it's hard to know beforehand.
It also stresses me out that they have these chatboxes on websites, where (after trying to find the correct response to get a human) they will take 10-15 minutes to reply you, but then if you don't reply within 2 minutes, they assume you are no longer there and close the chat. Why even?

Depends, some do, many don't.
Once I had to wait for 50 minutes for ikea support, then when they picked up, they just immediately dropped the line.
Had to call again and wait again...

Sad to hear. It was fun little game. I really liked the balance they struck between making things silly and still interesting to play. The game is also filled with references to other media and games. They also added a lot of quality of life things, like filtered crafting and autolooting, while not convieniencing away all the fun.

That would make sense actually. How would congestion pricing work though? Like you have to pay for the duration you occupy the road? How to track this?

Apparently they made 1 other game called Clockwork Empires. Never tried it though, and from the looks of the steam reviews, it might not be worth it to try.

Thank you, that's helpful.
I'm very bad at remembering all the communities though.
Even though I used reddit before and knew AskReddit, I didn't think about AskLemmy at all.

I actually saw this one. Pretty funny. For those who want to check it, it's apparently Episode 3 from Series 3: 181 – "Gridlock"

In that case you would have to ban human-driven cars from the roads no?

So asking what headphones to buy for my budget is better for the specific community, but asking what meditation techniques have you found helpful and why is ok for AskLemmy?

Looking for a watch? That supports multiple vibrating alarms and doesn't require frequent charging
Reply in thread
Normally I would not change it very often.
Does it also have a timer? Just like 1 hour long?
Or would I have to adjust every time I want to set a 1 hour timer?
Now just to find one with a reasonable price. The GBD-200 seems quite nice, but I would prefer more affordable if I can. Not sure if there are a lot of options with vibrating alarm.

I'd be happy to post any questions I have there. I tend to be online very infrequently though, so it might not be that helpful.
