Apple's A20 Pro shatters Geekbench 7 single-core record — 2nm chip beats desktop Intel Core i9 and AMD Ryzen 9 by up to 32%
All of this performance is wasted on Apple's closed hardware and OS. What a shame.

This Kraft dude seems like a stand-up guy.
In 2019, Kraft was among 25 people facing first-degree misdemeanor charges for soliciting prostitution at a day spa. His attorney electronically entered a not-guilty plea, and later submitted a court filing where Kraft waived arraignment, pled not guilty to all charges and requested a jury trial.
In 2026, it was revealed that Kraft had kept a relationship with child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and that Epstein had recommended Kraft use his lawyer to defeat the charges.

No it is not a military vessel. It is an exploration vessel. That is the core mission. Not sure how anyone who has actually watched StarTrek miss this key point.

‘The People Building AI Earnestly Believe That It Could Kill Us All’: Anthropic Researcher Quits Dramatically
It is going to be like this until all of the IPO's are all done. I expect cancer cures, AI-escaped-and-is-hacking-everything, you name it. Afterwards, once the stocks have crashed and all of the insiders have walked away with untold fortunes, what few taxpayers that remain will bail them all out 'cause we can't have Chinuh out AI-scamming-the-world now can we...

GrapheneOS defends use of AI for coding

This is the key point.
From my reading that is not the limit in how they are using AI. It seems like they are accepting LLM generated code as inputs.
This pretty much compromises the whole project as far as I am concerned.

New California law bans officers from using gloves that deliver electric shocks
Years ago I trained against shock knives. I'd take that over a steel baton any day. The point that I am trying to make here is that the shock gloves are a bit of a distraction. The use of force is the issue. Bodycams should be required and the footage held by an accountable third party. Specific agents who can't follow the rules should be fired from ICE and banned from all other LEOs.
Folks should also realize that people(actual illegals) fearing deportation will almost certainly not go quietly. Other people(legals) who are wrongly targeted should also have recourse which does not seem particularly evident today.

This is what it looks like when someone falls into an AI k-hole. I've seen it happen to friends of mine. They get lost down deep in Claude's anus and start sending me completely fucking nonsensical ideas at odd hours of the day.
Looks like it is KDE's turn. I doubt many people here are old enough to remember the shitshow that KDE 4.0 was... this made me think of that.

With the suite of sensors onboard this is the ideal mobile surviellance platform.
Cameras, Lidar creating a 3D map, EM sensors, likely microphones. All circulating all day long under the guise of providing a service that no one needs or asked for while claiming a safety record that is great until it is not.
Google paved the way with this idea when they created streetview maps 15+ years ago...which just so happened to be mapping wifi APs which is totally a necessary part of providing streetviews.

Foreign officials say Trump has sent US allies running — and it’s permanent
Delegating your security to any other country, like much of the world has done for decades with the US, is never a good idea. Europe did this after WW2 because so much of it was destroyed by war. Allowing the US to continue as their sugar daddy for so long is at least partially on them. Canada is feeling the sting of this too right now.
If a country can't provide for most of its own needs in terms of goods, services and energy, it has no real sovereignty.
