If I'm awake at 3am it's not because I woke up, it's because I haven't gone to bed yet.

I stair into the dark corner and wait for it to make it's move.

You seem to not understand why they asked that. Read the title you wrote, I don't understand how you failed to see how badly you fucked it up.

They accidentally a word, not that big of a fuck up. Unless I missed something else in all the times I re-read that (and it did take a couple times to notice the missing "up").

Either way, their meaning is pretty clear.

Man writing custom games modes for Reach in Bungies BLAM language was probably peak Halo Reach for me, I miss it, might be about time to crack open MCC once again.

Perhaps it’s time to get LASO out of the way!

MCC yes, LASO hell no. Did it as a kid to prove how badass I was, but it took forever.

Custom game browser all the way!

LASO hell no. Did it as a kid to prove how badass I was, but it took forever.

Did ODST LASO first because my buddy wanted to get it done, he got the achievement but I never got the it after finishing it, kinda why I postponed LASO sessions.

I doubt that they addressed whatever it was that prevented me from getting the achievement but perhaps it’s worth giving it another shot!

Why do you find it lovely? I get that you said the night is quite peaceful but then the problem is that you're sleep deprived the next day.

I never enjoyed that part. How do you deal

Personally I started taking a psych med earlier this year that some people sometimes are prescribed it for non-psych reasons as a sleep aid. So I never have those issues anymore lol!!

What do you mean "wake up wake up"? Is there another layer of unconsciousness that I haven't broken through? IS THIS NOT REAL? AM I NOT ROY AT ALL??? OMG, the whole thing is an illusion! WHO AM I? WHAT IS THIS?

I interpreted it like this:
Waking up: Waking up, but not able to sleep still feeling unrested but not really sleepy.
Waking up waking up: Waking up despite unusual amount of sleep but still feeling well rested like usual.

1

Or the way I interpreted it:
Wake up wake up: Waking up and either not being able to or not wanting to get back to sleep.
Wake up: Just waking up at all, including when you just roll over and go back to sleep or go to the bathroom and immediately return to sleep.

lol! You can see a meeseks in that one episode where they’re walking past the arcade machines. It filled its purpose for the guy and disappeared lol.

Existence is pain!

Why is this marked NSFW?

Anyway, maybe lie in bed for a bit, do some reading, eventually get up and make breakfast and coffee. Watch the sun rise. Get some work in before whatever obligations I have in the morning. Sometimes go to the supermarket as soon as it opens because it's nice and quiet first thing in the morning. Can buy your food for the week without a flood of children running into your stomach.

1

Yup. Seeing your family scrambling, that’s sanity damaging. Gotta make a move, can’t just stand and be mannequin.

I spent about a year practicing going back to sleep. I've become pretty good at it, but my job is very sucky right now, so sometimes i forget to turn that off and do the steps.

Getting back to sleep is a skill I urgently need... Did you use any method or training or such?

It sounds so dumb, but it really works for me. I can almost always put myself back to sleep now within a few minutes- except for the nights when I'm really mad at work and, instead of doing the process, i wallow in the misery of insomnia as if that's somehow hurting the people I hate.

I get in a good position and get my pillow and covers just right. I take 3 breaths and focus really really hard on my breathing. I take 10 breaths to focus on relaxing, being calm, and feeling the comfort of my pillow, the weight of my covers, and how good my bed feels. I start at my feet (both feet on a regular night or one at a time if I'm really struggling) and for 3 breaths i relax them and feel their weight sink into the bed. Then i work my way up, moving to my ankles, lower legs, knees, ... taking 3 breaths at each one....and I'm usually asleep before upper legs. The hardest part was learning to focus hard on each breath, in and out, and each feeling, so it fills up your brain and other thoughts won't fit. If something else creeps in, i reset with 3 focusing breaths, then continue.

I read until I get sleepy again. There's no way around not able to sleep again at 3 am.

5

I lay in bed at an odd angle thanks to the dog for another hour or so after I wake up before I stumble downstairs and make/drink a pot of coffee. I'll usually just listen to some music and drink coffee until obligations arrive.

3

Honestly, I try to get back to sleep for a few minutes and if that doesn't work, I'll just get up and start my day. Same happened today at 5am, currently 6am and I already updated my phone, read and replied to my e-mails, spent a few minutes here to read a little, it's not that bad. My argument is that if I try to lay there I will unconciously make the bed a place where I feel frustrated. So I never lay there half awake or bedrot with my phone in the mornings as both of that will lead to me being unable to properly fall asleep in the evening as I will start hating going to bed. Currently I'm on my couch in a blanket, which isn't far from bedrotting, but I'm not making the bed a place I resent by choosing to stay in there.
