‘I have very severe problems’: Trump hints at health issues

Donald Trump has made a bizarre confession about his own health at an event at the White House.

The US president was addressing a group of firefighters when he went on a tangent about personal vices.

"If you don’t drink or you don’t take drugs or if you don’t smoke, there’s no problem," Trump said.

"I have other problems, I have some very severe problems. But those are not one of them."

"I don't want to add them to the list, 'cos if I did I guarantee I wouldn't be here right now."

Trump:

"If people get sick in the audience, they leave them alone. You know what they call them? Collateral damage," He then pointed out someone in the crowd. "If that person right over there, he looks like s— actually. He looks like he's ready to have a heart attack. " "If he actually had a heart attack, you know what my doctors would do, they would follow the president and leave him alone. "I've got like six ambulances and they won't use one for anybody else."

What a vile man.

Six ambulances. That's when you know you made it. The American Dream.

At the cost of an ambulance ride??? More like the American nightmare for the rest of us!

23
lemmy.world

Sayin. They won't even let you run alongside for less than a couple grand.

6

Grab a bike and then just get jammed into the wheel well if you want a free ride to the hospital.

Best to make sure they’ve already got some other sucker inside first though. You don’t want to end up on a transfer ride down the freeway.

3

I would hope for a fleet of hearses to follow him around.

7

I now think it's possible to become so morally wicked, so addled with evil thoughts, that one ceases to even be human in any meaningful sense of the word. Trump has convinced me that, in a mundane but definite sense, skinwalkers exist.

35

Smaug wouldn't even be a top ten wealthiest American billionaire. Fictional greed-obsessed monsters have objectively less than our real oligarchs.

13

You give him too much credit. He's more like a toddler than never had to share.

12

I mean there's a reason they don't talk about the banality of charity, after all.

Old but still relevant."The US constitution is in peril. Civil and human rights are being trampled upon. The economy is in disarray. Federal judges in more than 120 cases so far have sought to stop Trump – judges appointed by Republicans as well as Democrats, some appointed by Trump himself – but the regime is either ignoring or appealing their orders. It has even arrested a municipal judge in Milwaukee amid a case involving an undocumented defendant. Recently, Judge J Harvie Wilkinson III of the court of appeals for the fourth circuit – an eminent conservative Reagan appointee who is revered by the Federalist Society – issued a scathing rebuke to the Trump regime. In response to its assertion that it can abduct residents of the US and put them into foreign prisons without due process, Wilkinson wrote: If today the Executive claims the right to deport without due process and in disregard of court orders, what assurance will there be tomorrow that it will not deport American citizens and then disclaim responsibility to bring them home? And what assurance shall there be that the Executive will not train its broad discretionary powers upon its political enemies? The threat, even if not the actuality, would always be present, and the Executive’s obligation to ‘take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed’ would lose its meaning. Wilkinson’s fears are already being realized. Ice recently deported three US citizens – aged two, four and seven – when their mothers were deported to Honduras. One of the children, who has stage 4 cancer, was sent out of the US without medication or consultation with doctors. Meanwhile, the regime continues to attack all the independent institutions in this country that have traditionally served as buffers against tyranny – !universities, non-profits, lawyers and law firms, the media, science and researchers, libraries and museums, the civil service and independent agencies – threatening them with extermination or loss of funding if they do not submit to its oversight and demands. Trump has even instructed the Department of Justice to investigate ActBlue, the platform that handles the fundraising for almost all Democratic candidates and the issues Democrats support. We are no longer Democrats or Republicans. We are either patriots fighting the regime or we are complicit in its tyranny. There is no middle ground Meanwhile, Trump is actively destroying the economy. His proposed tariffs are already raising prices. His attacks on the Fed chief, Jerome Powell, are causing tremors around the world. Trump wants total power, even at the cost of our democracy and economy. His polls are plummeting yet many Americans are still in denial. “He’s getting things done!” some say. “He’s tough and strong!” Every American with any shred of authority must loudly and boldly explain the danger we are in. A few Democratic members and progressives in Congress (Bernie Sanders, AOC, Cory Booker, Chris Van Hollen, Chris Murphy) have expressed outrage, but most seem oddly quiet. Granted, they have no direct power to stop what is occurring but they cannot and must not appear to acquiesce. They need to be heard, every day – protesting, demanding, resisting, refusing. Barack Obama has spoken up at least once, to his credit, but where is my old boss, Bill Clinton? Where is George W Bush? Where are their former vice-presidents – Al Gore and Dick Cheney? Where are their former cabinet members? They all must be heard, too. What about Republican members of Congress? Are none willing to stand up against what is occurring? And what of Republican governors and state legislators? If there were ever a time for courage and integrity, it is now. Their silence is inexcusable. Over 400 university presidents have finally issued a letter opposing “the unprecedented government overreach and political interference now endangering American higher education”. Good. Now they must speak out against the overreach endangering all of American democracy. Hundreds of law firms have joined a friend-of-the-court brief in support of the law firm Perkins Coie’s appeal of the regime’s demands. Fine. Now, they along with the American Bar Association and every major law school must sound the alarm about Trump’s vindictive and abusive use of the justice department. America’s religious leaders have a moral obligation to speak out. They have a spiritual duty to their congregations and to themselves to make their voices heard. The leaders of American business – starting with Jamie Dimon, the chair and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, who in normal times has assumed the role of spokesperson for American business – have been conspicuously silent. Of course they fear Trump’s retribution. Of course they hope for a huge tax cut. But these hardly excuse their seeming assent to the destruction of American democracy. We have witnessed what can happen in just the first 100 days. I’m not at all sure we can wait until the 2026 midterm elections and hope that Democrats take back at least one chamber of Congress. At the rate this regime is wreaking havoc, too much damage will have been done by then. The nation is tottering on the edge of dictatorship. We are no longer Democrats or Republicans. We are either patriots fighting the regime or we are complicit in its tyranny. There is no middle ground.! Soon, I fear, the regime will openly defy the supreme court. Americans must be mobilized into such a huge wave of anger and disgust that members of the House are compelled to impeach Trump (for the third time) and enough senators are moved to finally convict him. Then this shameful chapter of American history will end.”

I don't even understand that at all. For an emergency, are six ambulances somehow better than one? What are the other 5 going to do when transporting him?

What are the other 5 going to do when transporting him?

This is nothing to do with health.

This is a subtle reference to how one of his vices is raping children.

May I ask what you are referring to? I mean, we are well aware of his penchent for raping children, that phrase doesn't remind me of any of the stories I've read of yet.

2

He’s talking about vices, not health, right? He says he doesn’t have any of the vices he listed. But that he has others, that if he listed he wouldn’t be there.

5
lemmy.world

I’m Italian and let me tell you I know this pattern: he’s got a sex problem. It came in his mind when he was talking about vice, so that’s why he couldn’t list it. Everybody knew, the crowd was alpha males in his mind so he had to show off. He is aware of what caused the fall of Berlusconi, women.

It's "the best Dune" in the way that Donaldo is "making *** great ***". It's a completely terrible movie that the (excellent) director basically gave up on and is incredibly embarrassed about (correctly)

2

Alright I'm going to get it out there. Dune (1984) is a horrendously bad film. A blemish on Lynch's (otherwise quite good) career. It must be unbelievably embarrassing to have your name on that piece of shit though. I hope it keeps him up at night. Holy shit

1
lemmy.world

I honestly don’t take this as health concerns. I think it’s a severely depraved thing, like possibly raping more children than we knew or maybe even killing people. Who tf knows. But I don’t think it’s health related. It’s nasty vile evil shit related.

47
lemmy.world

The part about having 6 ambulance that he's forbidden to help his biggest supporters, and still for the love of Christ going on about cognitive tests, and apparently still taking them, are absolutely not things healthy people say.

19
sploderreply
lemmy.world

Absolutely he’s not healthy at all. I just feel he’s talking about other things here, but it’s probably a soup of disease where he’s just talking about himself as a whole tbh now that I have read it again after my breakfast.

4

I think he just rambles in stream of consciousness, and at the moment he's dying, so that's what he's thinking about. But also the raping.

2

Ya, its like a few months ago when he tweeted an ai picture of like a skeleton and it said, "haunt them in their dreams" in like blood red. Its giving the same sick vibes.

4
lemmy.world

Yeah, these vices give you problems. I'm not going to say my vices as the problem is that I would not be here.

How do you interpret that as illness?

4

"If I told you the bad stuff I do for fun, then I'd be in prison"

4
lemmy.world

Its kinda bugging me that he used the words collateral damage when it comes to citizens dying. He parrots a lot of stuff he's heard in meetings recently and its just a bit unsettling. What is the collateral damage he was likely recently told about?

42
lemmy.zip

It reminds me of a few months back when he was talking about groceries as though he had just heard the word for the first time.

19

I'd misremembered that that was one of the words he thought he coined, but it's not. He called the word "old fashioned" and said something like "It's basically a bag with different things in it." So… still idiotic, but not quite what I remembered. It's hard to keep up with his fucking dementia. lol

'Behold. The festering carcass of American rot shoved into an ill-fitting suit: the sleaze of a conman, the cowardice of a draft dodger, the gluttony of a parasite, the racism of a Klansman, the sexism of a back-alley creep, the ignorance of a bar-stool drunk, and the greed of a hedge-fund ghoul all spray-painted orange and paraded like a prize hog at a county fair. Not a president. Not even a man. Just the diseased distillation of everything this country swears it isn’t but has always been arrogance dressed up as exceptionalism, stupidity passed off as common sense, cruelty sold as toughness, greed exalted as ambition, and corruption worshiped like gospel. It is America’s shadow made flesh, a rotting pumpkin idol proving that when a nation kneels before money, power, and spite, it doesn’t just lose its soul it shits out this bloated obscenity and calls it a leader.'

It fits our worldview and makes us smile, but it isnt “fact” unfortunately

Eyewitness testimony is pretty strong evidence and we have that. The amount of evidence we have so far would be enough for a conviction in a civil suit.

Tin foil hat moment

His advisers are likely telling him there's a high chance that he loses the house and Senate in the midterms, and that he will likely be impeached again. While it's unlikely he will be removed by the Senate, he may be setting up a scapegoat to step down as president "I'm too sick to be president" as soon as he passes the 2 year mark, so JD Vance can take over and still be eligible for 2 terms after.

As a narcissist with no shame, this probably won't happen, but if his (Thiel-backed) advisers are in his ear, he's at least hearing it frequently.

He doesn't have the personality of a wet couch cushion, he's just responsible for making the couch cushions damn and sticky and crusty.

5

If he’s a vegetable like the GOP McWhatever guy, we should force precedent that he’s still the acting president until death. No Vance. Just Vegetable In Chief.

6

He is not concerned about congress flipping. Vought has figured out how to keep new candidates form taking the oath on Jan 3rd. UNFTR has a piece on it, looks extremely likely to me.

2

Trump is a narcissist to the core. Start from that point. The only things that are likely to be problems to him are his own personal health and anything that threatens his status. That could be anything from him knowing he’s getting dementia to “If the dems win a majority in the midterms they could make life hard for me.”

At any time any POTUS can say they have problems and it could be explained many ways. We have a million known crimes this guy has committed, so speculation and reaching is unnecessary and just gives stupid people an argument that nobody has time to dispute.

I'm on the spectrum and not an intuitive communicator, but even in context I do not see a safe way to conclude he's talking about drugs, sex, health, or anything specific that couldn't be explained with the typical hardships of being POTUS.

lemmus.org

Maybe tangential, but this thought occurred to me after reading this: if Trump is actually aware of his vices then that means there's a degree of guilt. The question is then, would Trump ever be permitted to admit his guilt? And I don't mean this necessarily to mean "would we ever accept an admission of guilt/remorse from him" as much as I mean "would the people who surround him ever permit it, or would they simply reinforce the idea that they need from Trump: that he cannot do wrong, etc.?" Because if Trump were to ever feel the sense of conviction and admit his wrongs, those who have hitched themselves to him would also have to admit those things (or at least admit to connecting themselves to a man who is willing to admit his own wickedness) and their lust for power likely won't let them do that.

It just seems like a complete circle of awfulness. Surrounding yourself with sycophants not only prevents you from getting honest feedback, it also prevents you from being a better person because the sycophant cannot permit you to change, cannot permit you to admit that the version they embraced was somehow wrong or bad. I'd love to see Trump humbled and repentant, willing to accept the consequences of his actions, and attempt to make what meager amends he can with the time he has left. But I actually don't think that will ever happen, not only because of his own arrogance, but also due to the people who surround him. He is practically predestined to be awful until the end.

5

By vices, I suspect he means things like drinking and smoking, not moral, ethical, or legal vices, so I doubt there's any feeling of guilt involved.

3

would Trump ever be permitted

It's pretty damned clear by now, it's not possible to stop him. You can remove him from the camera or position, but he's going to do/say whatever in the fuck is going through his mind and his base will just cheer.

2

Trump is a narcissist, which means there's no way he can become a better person, because he is the best person, ever, with the best genes. He's just that much better than anyone else, nobody else comes close. Why would he surround himself with anyone who doesn't understand that?

1

Honestly it's kinda sad, he could have been such an advocate for healthy living and staying sober. He could have fought for treatment for addicts.

Same with hegseth, he gets clowned on for not keeping up with the army members he trains with but, brother in christ, he's 46 and doesn't hold a position where physical fitness is relevant.

The two of them could have advocated for keeping your body healthy but instead they had to wrap it in manosphere anti-woke BS

3

From his lips to god's ears. As an atheist I will be happy to convert if god makes it obvious enough.

1

Even thinking there a reason to mention that you don't give tips to law enforcement reveals a LOT.
