Well, you could either change your ways or get used to being tired, because when you're hateful scum, people treat you like you are.

That's why they operate almost exclusively in editorials to the point that they think editorials are news.

11

Exactly, and FOX News self feeds on its own shit by cycling around in the morning with their live editorials saying this then they turn around and say some people are now saying X.

6

Exactly. If someone tells me they vote R I immediately think of them having this level of logical thinking skills.

this shit bag site blocks VPNs with a generic access issue message, btw

before people bother trying to give them clicks

14

Not all VPNs. Mine works just fine. Though it's a shit site regardless of its access policies.

In mainstream media, women like me are portrayed through a singular lens: Our conservative beliefs. As such, we are easy to hate, mock and scorn.

Um, that's how people should be judged, dumbass.

JFC, this entire thing reads like something out of The Onion: "boo hoo, I contain multitudes, but I adhere to hateful bullshit, why don't people tolerate meeeeee? What happened to acceptance and inclusivity?"

She’s so close to understanding that if her actions result in her unhappiness, maybe she should change her own behavior. But it’s a conservative way of thinking to stop short and blame everyone but yourself, and then project and say that’s the problem with the rest of the world, no personal accountability.

Yes… it’s almost like people are hating, mocking and scorning your conservative beliefs and not the gender you were born into.

If this is in stark contrast to what you grew up with, the problem might be your environment, not the people calling out the things you can change about yourself.

It's team sports mentality to the nth degree.

Peak conservatism

"Respect me for my tribe not for my actions!"

"As a conservative woman living in Texas, I often feel like I'm living a dual reality. I'm a mom and a writer, but that's not all. I go to church, laugh with friends and wave at my neighbors while we are walking our dogs.

Not the Mexicans though, because they shouldn't be allowed to be here. Or the gays down the street trying to adopt a child, because that's an abomination. Also, poor children shouldn't be allowed to eat food, climate change is a hoax, and if you disagree with anything I say I'm going to call you woke and unamerican. Why aren't people nice to me?"

How about you stop trying to regulate who I can sleep with and marry? How about you stop trying to interject your fake sky daddy into my medical care by denying me the right to an abortion, or gender affirming healthcare if I happen to be trans? Conservative women spout nothing but hate and intolerance; they are reaping what they sow.

33

This is pretty much the issue right here, she just can’t see it. The core of conservatism is virile hatred, autocratic thinking, and otherism. They think that people are being mean because they go to church and are mothers. Or at least that’s what she said.

And those things mean nothing when it comes to conservatism. Trump made sure of that. Nowadays conservatism is fascism. And hating fascists isn’t wrong. But these people erase that part of their ideology so they can pretend to just be mothers and churchgoers who just can’t catch a break!

5

This asshole is hiding behind her womanhood, using it as cover for her awful fascist worldview. Sorry, you being a conservative woman isnt the problem. You being a fascist is, and it justifies all of the scorn, ridicule, and social isolation.

This article is just another retread of the tired right wing cannard that claims intellectualism and critical thinkers must necessarily accept bigoted and authoritarian ideologies. The fear of this criticism is what fuels the weak, captulating nature of current Democratic leadership.

No, being open minded doesn’t require one to treat all ideas equally.

64

Oh no, they're being judged by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin their genitals.

Do conservatives ever just shut the fuck up?

60

Tautologically, the ones you'll hear about, don't.

Is focus my rage one the media amplifying their message tbh, that's the real problem here.

1

Doesn't it go both ways? I'm neither, but "2 sides" is a junk narrative causing division.

If anything, it's top vs bottom, aka wealthy elite vs us poors

-13

Who knew that supporting fascism and circling wagons around a pedophile would have negative consequences in a society that generally frowns upon fascism and pedophilia.

Same as:
I'm tired of being hated just because I'm a horrible person.

34

I know, it's like, just because I'm a gaping asshole that shits on everyone with less power than I do, as I lie cheat and steal under the worst people in the world, that people are being mean to me.

Just shows the hypocrisy of the left, that they don't pretend to like everyone based on their gender! /s Almost too stupid of an argument to make but that is where they are.

5

Progressives claim to value women...

Do they? I've never heard anyone say they value all women any more than I've heard anyone say that they value all men. Progressives, in my experience, value individuals based on their moral character rather than what genitals they have.

The whole whole article is whining about being mocked and provides nothing of value for why their views and conservatism do not deserve to be mocked. Nothing about what values they have that are laudable and popular with the masses.

Because conservate ideology is heavy on message and enpty of substance.

But The Post tried to smear her faith, personality and confidence from the start of the article: "Trump’s newest press secretary is radiant, blond and apple-cheeked ‒ as if one of Leonardo da Vinci’s Madonnas had been styled for a Fox News hit. Her delivery is righteous, if a bit smug. God gives everyone gifts, Leavitt believes; hers is public speaking. And for roughly a half hour, once or twice a week, she delivers Trump’s word to a room filled with professional skeptics."

If the trivializing of an accomplished woman wasn't so disgusting, I'd laugh. Can you imagine The Post smugly diminishing a progressive woman (or man) as "radiant, blond and apple-cheeked"?

What has Levitt accomplished?

14
lemmy.world

LOL, "restoring liberty".

As usual, conservatives seem to be using the Southern definition of that word.

Also:

Americans who are alarmed by Trump should recognize the significance of the nation's decline under progressive leaders. President Joe Biden drove the country to the far left, losing control of our borders, driving up the budget deficit and the national debt and imposing a progressive social agenda that ignored what most Americans believed.

What fucking universe do these people even live in? What decline? We had an economy that was the envy of the world at the end of 2024.

In no way is any sitting Democrat "far left", nevermind Joe Biden. Also, "losing control of our borders", drama much?

8

Joe Biden took an economy in shambles from COVID and Trump’s shit decisions and turned it around and still I have to hear how he ‘did nothing’ by politically illiterate people all the time.

If you are a woman in the US and still vote conservative, you basically vote for getting chained to the kitchen.

15

Yes, but rich white conservative women are voting to lounge around all day making racist remarks about the maid and the chef doing a shitty job.

Oh come on. Is there a word for this like Uncle Tom? Aunt what?

Stand up for your sisters or be stomped.

And for the record - I am a mom & got to stay home with some of my kids for a couple of years, love some D/s in the bedroom. I don't disagree with the lifestyle. I very strongly disagree with forcing everyone to get on board. Fuck right off with that. You do you and give everyone else the same consideration. Leave my kids alone.

Mammy, Aunt Jemima, and Aunt Thomasina are versions I've heard, but those are specifically racial. I don't think I've ever heard a specific name linked to... Gender treason?

I have never really understood people who are loud supporters of an ideology that is against their own interests.

13

Erika Kirk here, the happiest widow in the country, is rich first, and a woman somewhat after that.

Her interests are of the monied class, she is not against them at all, and the rules they seek to force on the poors are not applied to them in any case, they can still get abortions or medical care if pregnant. They can still dress provocatively even while they try and refuse those rights to the poors.

I’d say it’s a non story if Dems were in control, but this is VERY telling and a very important part of history - conservatives have had absolute control for years now, decades in many regions, a trifecta republican controlled state in her home of New Hampshire since 21. She should be thrilled, her life should be better every day, each day she should be happier than the last - so why isn’t she? Could it be that her political world view and personal beliefs don’t actually improve the world around her and don’t lead to happiness and fulfillment? It appears they don’t, happy people doing what they love when what they love improves the world don’t tend to bitch and moan and say they’re so sick of being mistreated and called out for their bullshit.

13

From my experience of being married to such a person (many years ago, gladly), nothing is ever enough to please them.

The writer of the stupid piece probably believes her life should be a series of "and everybody clapped" when she announces that she is a conservative.

Turns out, that is not how things work in general, and definitely not for holding vile views. Turns out that people have their own moral compass, and you may hear people pushing back on your disgusting worldview. Announcing you are a conservative in many scenarios is about as well-received as someone letting out a big broccoli fart on an elevator.

Also, to your point about being happy that their awful schemes are being implemented - I know of a few cons in my life that were devastated when Roe was overturned. They were hopping mad, in fact, and thought it was part of some liberal conspiracy to make cons look bad and kill turnout for the cons.

One of the key planks in their platform, achieved after about 50 years and constant fuckery with SCOTUS. They were boiling over with rage about it. You'd think they would be happy about it, but noooo.

Same for donnie getting elected in 2016. I noticed a huge uptick in simmering rage among cons I knew IRL, saw lots of viral videos where they were having meltdowns, and posters online in forums I was in seemed to have people just more angry than ever. This was a guy they adored, and he won, or at least "won". And they were just mad about it. I don't know if it's because the media, the liberals in their lives, etc...didn't do "and everybody clapped" for them? I have no idea. I think for some of them, they had people cutting them out of their lives. People finally had enough. I know of many instances in my life where someone known to have voted for donnie was cut out of social activities.

The writer of the stupid piece probably believes her life should be a series of "and everybody clapped" when she announces that she is a conservative.

Worse still, she seems to think she should get a free pass from progressives just because she's a woman. I wonder what her opinion is on trans women.

3
lemmy.world

I could easily see them parroting that stupid bullshit that "Biden couldn't even say what a woman is!"

I think you could probably make a guess based on this:

Drag queens are cool. Conservative women are gross. And that is what passes for journalism in 2025.

3

When I said 'I wonder' it was more rhetorical. I don't really have to wonder.

Here's a progressive viewpoint that'll blow that woman's mind: Women can be arseholes too.

3

No symapthy for cunts that drag others down by working against their own basic rights.

9

Oh no, I made my bed and now I have to sleep in it.

Oh no, I voted to lose my voting rights and now I can’t vote anymore.

Come on Karen, if you’re such a proud conservative why does the opinion of others you clearly consider inferior matter to you? Is it insecurity? Does little MAGA baby feel self-conscious because it’s supporting an ideology that’s wants to abolish its rights?

7

Cult members are always targets for scorn. So are grifters. Derision and contempt are the least that you deserve for the criminality and abuse that you support.

Liberals: Have you tried not being a conservative?

Conservatives: Have you tried not being a woman?

3

Also cons: "What is a woman? Joe Biden wouldn't even define it! Also, try not being one, but actually, no, not like that, because that's part of the agenda."

3
mrmaplebarreply

Some ideologies are not really compatible with being a decent person.

Fiscal conservatism can at least be somewhat justified (even if I fundamentally disagree with it), but I would argue that much of social conservatism boils down to taking away people's basic human rights and personal liberty.

3

If only any of the fiscal conservatives were really fiscally conservative.
