i've learned the progressive movements need only to outlive the misery that the epstein class keeps inflicting upon the world -- not destroy or stop it.

the red army or the vietcong and the revolutionary army's never defeated the epstein's mercenaries -- they just outlasted them all and both history and nature confirm that the epstein class always fucks up eventually.

I am a positive nihilist which keeps me going. I am a humanist which depresses the shit out of me.

Renewables are taking off rapidly across the world because they are the cheapest form of power full stop. We keep underestimating how much capacity they'll add. Existing renewables and other measures, while not sufficient to prevent a lot of harm (we still need to keep going), has already made some of the absolute worst case climate timelines no longer considered likely

In solid blue is what we've actually done and the lighter lines were our predictions and models for new solar capacity

Something I have a less stats on and is more gut feeling, but in my personal life and online, I'm seeing a massive increase in the support for moving towards plant-based diets in just this last year. I was talking to one of my friends, in a city I used to live in, who told me that the veg fest near them was the most crowded they've ever seen it this year

renewables are taking off, but they're effectively banned in most of the western world

This is absolutely not true. They are also taking off a lot in the western world too and are the vast majority of new energy capacity. A lot western countries are trying to hamper them somewhat because of fossil fuel interests interfering, but they are not at all banned

Even in the US where the US government is even more actively trying to restrict, there is still a massive boom

Even as President Donald Trump boosts coal over clean energy, solar power is hitting new milestones in the U.S. and remains the leading source of new power.

as said: they're effectively banned; not literally banned -- why split hairs?

The dominant form of new capacity is not "effectively banned" by any stretch though. This is not splitting hairs, it's just wrong

photovoltaics are the world's dominant form and the united states imposes a 15-147% tariffs on them while europe outright banned them coming from china before relenting and the situation gets worse for other dominant forms like electric vehicles with a 200% tariffs.

whether or not they're officially banned is splitting hairs when they're practically unaffordable to obtain.

No, I mean the dominant form of new energy in the US and in Europe even despite that. Not just the world. It's a hindrance, but a far cry from an effective ban in at all

A skin cancer vaccine just entered the last phase of human trials.

4

I believe this was for a specific type of melanoma. The term "cancer" is more of an umbrella term for tumors. Not all tumors are the same even within the same organ.

If the economy collapses, causing banks to collapse, I'll be debt-free.

10

Well, I'm at least half joking, but I can't help but think that I'd be better off in a global collapse than most people.

Heres hoping the federal government goes down with it so we can forget about all those pesky student loans.

Luckily, I don't have that particular debt, but I'll cross my fingers in solidarity.

Their old age. There's more of this shit on earth, including their enablers/voters.

The youth seem to be alright, even though capitalism tries to break them again and again.
