I want to live in a world where people return the shopping carts, therefore I do it myself. If you don't, you're an antisocial prick.

Sometimes I even fix the shit show of random carts in random return lanes so everything fits all neat.

What if there were five shopping carts together in the next aisle. Which would you return?

1

Always. Lazy sociopaths don't. The same people that don't use indicators, leave pee on the seat, and jump queues.

This is my go to “joke” test for self governance. That and zipper merges, but I hate cars enough to not really care about that one.

You shop‽ I thought we all go to the canteen, and cook for everyone!!

It's a combination of sillytalk (also anarchist praxis), and getting to the actual essence of the anarchist axiom: food is something we all need. One of the ways to solidify is through sharing hunted and gathered food. Canteens/foodbanks are a public place folks can combine all the gathered food, cook, serve, and commune with.
I am mocking the meme of “shopping” because that is capitalist praxis. Not the [food] cart itself, but the act of shopping. Returning say cooking utensils, washing tables, cleaning the floors, that is the true equivalence of the thesis of this meme.

Thanks, that was both helpful and informative. I have difficulty parsing written communication sometimes ^^"

Not a problem 😁.
Recall too, banter/shitposting/sillytalk is also anarchist praxis. Free speech and press, especially in mockery of hierarchies is part of intersecting and solidarity. 🖕 food brokers (Grocery stores).

On one hand, prices are going up so why should I do the work of the people who work there?

On the other, I'm practical. I park next to the cart corral, reducing my chances of getting my door dinged by half, and then when I'm done with the cart, I put it back in the corral because it's the most convenient place to put it.

People who go out of their way to return the cart may be eligible for sainthood, but I do it because it makes sense, and I sorta set up the situation where it makes sense. We all win that way.

1

If there's a cart corral on the same aisle within visual distance, then yes. Otherwise I just find another loose cart and push mine there.

There are people who I dislike far more than those who don't return the shopping cart. The people who walk past 10 carts to get into the store and grab a cart are the worst.

2

Back when this cart return shaming was all the rage, I suggested that people do this--take a stray cart from the lot on the way in--and I was buried. I still don't know why, no one would tell me.

My duty to perform free labor for some corpo-capitalist shithole store?

They should thank me for not setting the cart on fire on my way out.

I mean, you're the one shopping at the corpo-capitalist shithole store. You already gave them your money. Why create a hazard for other shoppers and more work for the wage slave?

I mean, you’re the one shopping at the corpo-capitalist shithole store.

Certainly not very often. But sometimes there's stuff I can't feasibly make for myself or steal, so...

No clocks in as a "Cart Retriever". It's one of many tasks the wage slave rotates between. There are always other tasks.

1

If there are fewer tasks, the store will require fewer wage slaves and will fire some.

Yes, I return mine because I hate the chaos. I even got in a heated verbal altercation over someone putting theirs on the curb recently.

You reached the end
